Nathan stayed up very late and only went to bed in the wee hours of the morning.
However, he was already awake as the first ray of morning sunlight streamed in through the window.
Ever since his constitution transformed into a vampire's, it seemed as if he had boundless energy. A few hours of sleep each day was enough to fully restore his energy and stamina.
After getting up, Nathan had just finished freshening up when Colin entered from outside and reported, “Mr. Cross, Queen Dido has sent someone to invite you for breakfast.”
Nathan gave a slight nod, then went with Colin and Elite Eight.
In the luxurious dining room of the imperial palace, Dido had been waiting for Nathan for quite some time. That morning, she had changed into another off-shoulder palace dress. It was noble and elegant yet carried a hint of charm.
Before Nathan arrived, she was lost in thought, and her expression was as noble and dignified as a lady in an oil painting.
However, the moment she saw Nathan appear, her expression changed.
She said, “Mr. Cross, you're here. I had the chef prepare a Eurasian-style breakfast for you. Please, have a seat and give it a try.”
Nathan said with a smile. “Queen Dido, you're too kind.”
Dido beamed. “No, it's you. Without Mr. Cross, I wouldn't be here today, and the restoration of Wallera would not have been so smooth. From now on, this place will be your second home. The doors will always be open for you, Mr. Cross.”
Nathan laughed. “Okay!”
The two sat down and enjoyed breakfast together.
At the same time, Dido told Nathan that the appointment letter for Thomas to become Wallera's Minister of Defense had been issued. The inauguration ceremony would be held in the coming days, and then, Thomas would officially become Wallera's Minister of Defense.
Since Wolfric was pressuring Dido to take a stand, Dido's attitude was crucial.
At this moment, Nathan stopped eating to look at Dido and asked casually, “What are your thoughts on this, Queen Dido?”
Upon hearing Nathan's question about her opinion, Dido felt a bit upset. She looked at Nathan resentfully. “Mr. Cross, are you still unsure about how I think? Or perhaps you don't trust me at all! We fought side by side, and it was with your support that I was able to restore the nation successfully. You have done a great favor to me and my country; you gave us a new chance at life. I'm well aware that those guys like Wolfric are cunning and unpredictable. Of course, I stand firmly by your side. How could you even ask for my opinion, Mr. Cross?”
Upon hearing her, Nathan laughed and said, “You are Wallera's queen. Now that Wallera is facing a dilemma, you naturally have to decide yourself!”
Dido lifted her face. “My choice is to not accept Wolfric's terms. I will not disband my troops, nor will I accept his troops being stationed here. But, after I refuse, he will surely send someone to cause trouble. That's what I'm most worried about and why I'm seeking Mr. Cross's help.”
Nathan said with a smile, “All right. If Wolfric sends someone to cause trouble, I'll help you handle it.”
Upon hearing his promise, Dido was overjoyed and quickly said, “Thank you, Mr. Cross.”
