Upon hearing that Nathan planned to take Sevan out of the research base, Francis expressed his anxiety. “Mr. Cross, you mustn't. If he leaves and can't control himself, it could lead to serious consequences...”
Nathan said, “I'll take responsibility for all the consequences.”
Francis was at a loss for words, not knowing what else to say.
Nathan, Colin, and Sevan left the research base. It was already evening.
The three of them got in the car.
Colin turned to Nathan. “Where do you want to go?”
Nathan looked at Sevan and asked, “What would you like to eat?”
Sevan gave a bitter smile. “I have no appetite. If it's all the same to you, let's find a place to have a couple of drinks.”
Nathan nodded, “Okay!”
After saying that, he instructed Colin to find a bar so they could have a couple of drinks.
The research base was located in the suburbs, with no bars around.
When the three of them returned to the city, it was already dusk. The city lights were just beginning to come to life, marking the start of the city's nightlife.
The three of them casually walked into an unassuming wave-themed bar.
The bar was dimly lit. Music was playing.
There weren't many people around.
Nathan and his companions found a booth in the hall and ordered two bottles of alcohol.
The tall, skinny server gave Sevan an odd look as he served the drinks.
Clearly, the skinny Sevan had caught his attention.
At that moment, Nathan saw what was happening but didn't think much of it. He simply assumed that the waiter was just curious about why Sevan was so thin.
Nathan and his two companions raised their glasses together.
Right after they had a few drinks, a sleazy man with a small mustache suddenly slipped into their booth.
The mustached man made himself at home, sitting directly on the couch. He placed his briefcase on the coffee table with a grin and chuckled. “You all seem a bit unfamiliar. Is this your first time here?”
