After that little interlude, Nathan also realized Sevan was indeed on the brink of losing control. Any external trigger could potentially set him off, unleashing a killing spree as he indulged in blood without constraint.
Nathan's expression turned serious as he picked up his wineglass and shared a drink with Sevan.
Then, he looked at Sevan and slowly said, “Sevan, Professor Ladell said that treating your blood virus might take a long time to succeed. Even ten years might not be enough. For you, this must be tormenting. What's even more despairing is that there's no definite timeline for this treatment. Even a decade can't guarantee a cure. I suggest you give it some serious thought! If you wish to give up treatment and live as a vampire, I can arrange for you to go to Adrune and live with the surviving vampires. Perhaps a life with companionship would make things a bit easier for you.”
Sevan fell silent, lost in deep thought for the first time.
Colin, however, was getting anxious.
Whether Sevan could be cured and whether Cross Research Team could develop a potent serum would determine if Nathan could be treated in the future.
As such, Sevan represented hope for Nathan.
If Sevan abandoned the treatment, Nathan's hope would also be extinguished.
If the world were to discover Nathan had turned into a vampire, the consequences for him would be unimaginable!
At that moment, Colin was extremely anxious. He felt that Nathan shouldn't have persuaded Sevan to give up treatment. What scared him more was the possibility of Sevan actually giving up on treatment.
The research would come to a halt if Sevan couldn't provide more data.
The last thing Colin wanted was to lock Nathan up in the research base, medicating him day and night while using him to research a new serum.
However, as urgent as the situation was, Colin found himself unable to speak at that moment. He couldn't persuade Sevan not to give up, nor could he explain the reasons to Sevan.
After pondering for ten minutes, Sevan slowly exhaled. “Perhaps this is just my fate...”
Just as he made his decision, he suddenly heard the scream of a woman.
Then, he saw the mustached man who mistook him for a junkie. The man was seen with a few of his rowdy friends, forcibly dragging a girl toward the men's restroom.
The mustached man smirked. “Why are you shouting? Go in and we'll get cozy inside.”
The girl was screaming in fear. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that only a few people noticed the commotion in the restroom corridor.
Seeing the situation, Nathan said coldly, “I didn't expect this place to be this shady. I was planning to call the police after leaving to catch them all in one swoop. However, it seems I have no choice but to take action now.”
Colin was just about to step in and handle the situation when Sevan, who was beside him, had already made the first move.
With a swift motion, he dashed out, his voice trailing behind him. “I'll take care of these scoundrels.”
