After Ashley and Joseph arrived in Samniss City, Paul came to pick them up and brought them to the archaeological site.
It was the first time Joseph came to a place like this. He was dazzled by everything he saw.
The staff here had professional equipment and tools. Some held notebooks to record beside at any time.
After walking around for a few steps, they met Charlie and Frankie.
Joseph suddenly became impatient and asked Ashley in a low voice, "Was that idiot Charlie also invited here?"
"Maybe."
"What about Frankie? Did he come here for fun?"
"Yes, same as you."
"Ashley, how can you compare Frankie with me? You are scolding me!" Joseph looked insulted.
"Sorry, it was just a slip of the tongue." Ashley immediately apologized. She realized comparing Frankie with Joseph was not a good thing for Joseph.
Joseph snorted and was satisfied by her apology.
Charlie and Frankie immediately ran over in excitement once they saw Ashley.
When Frankie heard that Charlie had been invited to engage in these archaeological studies, he immediately thought, 'Would Ashley be invited here too? What if she was invited?
'As long as there is a chance of meeting Ashley, it is worth a try.'
So Frankie followed Charlie here.
Unexpectedly, he was so lucky to meet Ashley.
"Ashley, you're here too." Frankie was the first to speak. His behavior as a businessman disappeared. He was happy to see Ashley but was afraid of being disliked by Ashley.
Charlie looked no longer indifferent. He was visibly excited. "Ashley, we're working together today. Let me help you."
Ashley ignored them, passed by them, and walked forward.
Frankie was sad, and he quickly chased after. "Ashley, two days ago, some netizens questioned you and said you inherited Evan's gene... I'm sorry. We caused you trouble."
Joseph was listening next to him and finally heard Frankie say something sincere.
However, the Ramos family had already caused many troubles for Ashley.
Charlie also chased after and looked at Ashley with shame. "What netizens said is nonsense. The Ramos family owes you... Don't be affected by those comments."
Ashley looked at them with no expression. "Have you finished? Can you get out of my way?"
Frankie felt heartbroken when he heard Ashley's words.
He thought, 'I can't blame anyone for Ashley treating us so indifferent.
'It's our fault for being too jerks in the past and doing too many devil things.'
Frankie felt deeply regretted and self-blame. His voice trembled slightly. "Ashley, we felt relieved that day when we heard that you and Valentin were being together. He seems to treat you well... However, if he bullies you in the future, please tell us. We will risk our lives to help you get justice!"
Joseph mocked inwardly, 'Valentin bullies Ashley? It will never happen.'
Charlie continued what Frankie said, "Ashley, no matter what, we are your family. It's our responsibility to protect our sister."
He thought, 'Even though Valentin was powerful, we were fearless.'
Ashley's face showed no emotion after hearing their words. "I was no longer a member of the Ramos family, and I am not a family of you. Don't meddle in my affairs."
Then she passed by the two of them and walked forward.
Joseph quickly followed Ashley.
Frankie and Charlie stood in place, staring at Ashley's retreating figure with gloomy expressions.
"Frankie, will Ashley never forgive us?" Charlie looked lonely, full of a sense of powerlessness.
Frankie didn't know what to do. He cheered up with effort and calmly comforted. "She won't. As long as we work hard, Ashley will forgive us one day.
If the scroll was cracked when unfolding, it couldn't be kept well and be shown to the public.
Ashley stared at it for a long time, searching in her mind what Caleb had taught her before. Finally, she took a deep breath, picked up a brush, and took a cotton cloth.
She softly cleaned the soil and dust with the brush, wrapped the scroll with the cloth, and sprayed some water on the cloth.
Paul was surprised when he saw this method. It was completely unheard of. He immediately breathed softly so as not to disturb Ashley.
It took Ashley more than half an hour to finally unfold the scroll, which showed the difficulty and cautiousness of the process.
Seeing that the scroll was intact, Ashley breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ashley, your method is so rare. Did Caleb teach you this? You've made another great contribution!" Paul's face was full of joy.
Joseph felt proud of Ashley. "Ashley, you are so amazing. I almost admire you!"
Ashley smiled, put down the brush, and chatted with Paul about other cultural relics. After handling the most difficult part, it would be easy for the staff to do their jobs.
Near evening, Ashley called Valentin.
Valentin answered immediately.
Ashley didn't expect him to answer so soon. She was stunned for a moment and said sweetly, "Good evening, honey. I will be back soon!"
Valentin's voice with a smile came from the receiver. "Have you finished your work?"
Ashley walked to a quiet place and said as she walked, "There are still some cultural relics that have not been excavated, but professionals are here. I can't help with this kind of work. So I can go back soon."
Valentin replied, "Alright. Joseph is there. You can ask him for anything."
Ashley couldn't help but smile, glanced at Joseph not far away, and lowered her voice. "If Joseph hears you, he will complain again."
Valentin raised his eyebrows and said calmly, "I don't mind."
Ashley changed her hand to hold the phone and continued, "Well, Lester called me today. I told him that you will come with me tomorrow to meet his parents."
