Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2249

The mention of Sonny softened Duncan’s facial muscles. Duncan said to his mother, “I held Sonny to sleep tonight. My heart just melted when I saw him settling down in my arms. The kid is cuter by the day, and I can’t help but grow fonder of him. I don’t expect him to call me Dad. It makes me happy enough when he calls me Dunc.”

Hank was still alive. Even though Sonny was not close to his father, it did not change the fact that Hank was his father.

In the past, Duncan would comfort Sonny, expressing his desire to be his stepdad. However, Sonny said he already had a father and did not need another one. Sonny mentioned he was not greedy enough to have two dads.

Sonny showed Duncan that the boy would never call him dad.

That was why Duncan would not ask for more. It was enough for Duncan if he could marry Liberty and raise Sonny together with her. Sonny could call him Dunc since he did steal the boy’s mommy.

“Sonny is the most adorable thing. He is such a delight and a ball of sunshine to everybody around.”

Corey looked at her son and said, “We can’t force Sonny to call you Dad when you and Liberty get together. His biological father is still around and paying for child support. We can’t just erase his existence from Sonny’s life.

“If you and Liberty have a child, I can die happy.”

Corey had four sons, and three of them were married and had children. Her youngest son, however, was the source of her worries.

She did not think Liberty was good enough for Duncan back then, so she did not give her blessing for her son to be with Liberty.

Now, Corey was willing to accept Liberty, but Duncan was wheelchair-bound. The two young individuals were far from committing to a relationship, and God knew when they could be together.

They were in their thirties, and by the time they would start dating and have a child together, Liberty could be at high risk for pregnancy complications. If that was the case and judging by her son’s love for Liberty, he would likely stop Liberty from having a child with him.

Corey could not bear the possibility that Duncan might not have a child of his own.
