Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2845

Jasmine smiled. “Of course. I knew about you when Serenity said she wanted to introduce you to me. You’re Zachary’s right-hand man. Although we didn’t belong to the same social circle back then, I heard your name often.”

Josh chuckled. “I thought you didn’t like me. Our blind date didn’t go that well.”

“Did it not? Anyway, I liked you a lot.”

“Me too. We’re two peas in a pod. We both love gossip. I even had the impression that you only started dating me because you wanted juicy scoops.”

Jasmine gave him a side-eye. “Although I love gossip, marriage is a big thing. I won’t get married to you just to get first-hand gossip. I’d never get married if I didn’t love the person. I chose you because I loved you, and our attraction was mutual.”

Their relationship had been smooth sailing.

There were no problems, nor were there love rivals.

Their families were supportive of their relationship when they knew they were together. Josh’s parents adored Jasmine. When they visited the Soxes to discuss the marriage, they sang Jasmine’s praises while criticizing their son and almost offered to let Josh marry into the Sox family instead.

“Start driving. I want to have a stroll by the lake. It’s getting dark soon. You’ll get nagged by Theresa if we’re back late.”

Jasmine knew everything Theresa was doing was for her own good. Theresa used to dislike Jasmine and thought she was not good enough for Josh.

After spending some time with each other and after being lectured by Josh’s mother, Rebeca, Theresa’s attitude toward Jasmine improved. In the end, she accepted Jasmine sincerely out of her love for Josh as a cousin.

However, her old habit of nagging died hard.

Rebecca had told Jasmine that Theresa had always been that way and that Theresa meant no harm and asked Jasmine to bear with it a little.

Josh smiled. “Let’s head back later. Theresa usually goes to sleep at nine. Her routine is pretty much fixed. We can avoid her and her nagging if we go back a little later.

“Her nagging had gotten better after my mom talked to her several times.”
