Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2873

Walter checked the time and said, “We are a little bit early. If this was summertime, most people would be up by now. Why don’t we wait in the car for a while before knocking on the door?”

Stacy said, “I’ll call Julian to wake him up first.”

Then she proceeded to do just that.

Julian had just started kissing Quinn in his dream and had not gotten a deeper taste of it yet when he was woken by the piercing sound of his ringing phone. When he woke up, he touched his lips, reminiscing about the kiss in his dream, and then realized it had been a dream.

It was not real.

Although Quinn had not run away and graciously faced his confession head-on, she had said she needed to think about it.

She had not given an immediate response to his feelings.

It was just that the dream had been so sweet. Damn the phone call. Who was the insensible person who called him so early in the morning and interrupted his sweet dream?

Julian instantly felt irritated.

Grabbing his phone, he picked up the call without even looking at the caller ID and said darkly, “Who is this? It’s so early. I was still asleep. You’d better have something really important to tell me, or else—”

“Or else what? Who am I, you ask? I’m your mother. I’m already at the gate to the Crawfords’ home. You’d better come out right now to open it, or else I’ll skin you alive once I’m inside.”

Julian was fierce, but his mother was fiercer.

Just a few sentences were enough to make Julian’s irritation vanish.

He sat up from the bed in a sudden motion and said in a low voice, “Mom? W-what did you say? You’re already at the Crawfords’ gate? Is Dad there too?”

His parents mentioned they were coming over and indeed they came, so quickly at that.

“He’s right beside me. I saw that the lights were still off. They’re probably not up yet, right? Son, are we too early?”

Julian got out of bed while replying, “Of course. It’s such a cold day and you guys came so early too. Dad did say he was coming, but I can’t believe you guys really came over. I told you the time isn’t right yet. You guys will frighten Quinn.
