Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2877

Zoey turned to look at Quinn and asked, “What do you mean by hypoactive sexual desire disorder?”

“Julian has a disorder—hypoactive sexual desire disorder. He’ll only have a reaction toward one woman in his whole life. If he never meets that woman, he’ll basically be a eunuch. It’s incurable. You could say he’s at the mercy of God.”

Zoey was silent for a moment before saying, “This is my first time hearing about an illness like that in all my decades of living.

“In that case, if you marry Julian, you don’t have to worry about him changing his mind about you nor about other women climbing into his bed to steal him away from you.”

Quinn replied, “Theoretically, that is the case. Julian also told me that he doesn’t have any reaction at all to other women.

“When his parents found out about his disorder, they arranged blind dates for him every day. When he didn’t go on the blind dates, his parents would show him pictures of young ladies in hopes that one of them would trigger a reaction, but that was futile too.”

Quinn told her mother everything she knew.

“His parents were so anxious about this that they assumed he was reacting to a woman if he even paid her another look.”

Zoey was shocked to hear this and asked, “How is he sure that he has a different reaction toward you? Have you guys done something?”

Following that, she said sternly to her daughter, “My darling, it doesn’t matter whether Julian is sincere about you or not. Before you guys get married, you mustn’t give yourself away. Ladies should respect themselves.

“I often see stories and videos online about how some girls got pregnant out of wedlock and were looked down upon by their in-laws as a result. They would either reduce their wedding gifts or not give them at all.

“You won’t be happy with that sort of in-laws. That means they’re looking down on you.

“I’m not saying that I’m conservative and can’t keep up with the trends of you young people, but as a mother, I don’t want my daughter to be looked down upon by her future in-laws. So you should never cross the line with Julian.

“Even once you’re engaged, you still have to maintain your boundaries. But once you’ve registered your marriage and become a couple in the eyes of the law, I won’t care anymore even if the wedding ceremony hasn’t been held yet.”
