Serenity boosted Camryn’s confidence.

Camryn nodded firmly. She would cross the bridge when she got to it. There was nothing to fear.

“Seren, don’t tell Callum about this. I just got nervous for a moment, but everything’s fine now.”

Camryn did not want her husband to know that she was a little nervous. If he knew, he would insist on coming with her.

If she refused to let him, he would say she no longer loved him and was leaving him at home, making her exasperated.

In private, Callum acted childishly sometimes.

He only showed this side to her after they became husband and wife. Before that, he was always mature and reliable.

“I won’t tell him. Callum won’t go with you?”

“Mom said it was a gathering among ladies, and men rarely attended. She asked Callum to stay home. Callum even complained that I was going out to play with his mother without him, accusing me of not loving him anymore. It made me laugh.”
