Caroline had a gossipy and curious look on her face.

Emma felt even more anxious at this.

“Hurry on in, Emma. Don’t make Mom wait,” Caroline urged in a whisper before leaving.

Emma took a few deep breaths. Whatever it was, there was no running from it. She would have to go in.

No matter how impressive her mother-in-law was, she was not going to eat her now, was she?

Emma went in.

The moment she did, she saw photos scattered all over the floor before the desk.

Her scary mother-in-law was sitting behind the desk, munching on some fruit dipped in chocolate.

Emma was a little surprised to see this.

She did not expect her scary mother-in-law to be eating the same snack children fancied. It was probably given to her by Caroline.

Belinda did not care what Emma thought of this as she finished the last bit before instructing, “Pick up all the photos on the floor.”

“Yes, Mom.”

Emma hurriedly walked over to the table and put her bag down on a chair before bending over to retrieve the photos on the floor.

She dared not look at them, but she could not avoid seeing the photos while picking them up.

The moment she did, her expression twisted immediately.

If they were really going to divorce, she wanted to wait until all her kids had gotten into university.

“You don’t even know what your husband has been up to?” Belinda asked seriously.

Emma felt aggrieved. “Mom, it’s not like I have a position in the company. Whenever I make occasional visits, Adrian would say I’m disturbing his work and won’t allow me to visit.

“You said in the past that we could just be stay-at-home moms and focus on taking care of our own families, and that we did not have to worry about company affairs.

“Even if a couple is together all the time, a man could find the opportunity to cheat if he wanted to, let alone a couple who isn’t together all the time, like me and Adrian.

“I thought he would change after you taught him a lesson, but I didn’t expect him t-to actually get involved with that slut! I’ve already warned him, but he still—Mom, that harlot must have seduced Adrian.

“Adrian and his brothers have always doted on her. It’s obvious that something changed after they learned she wasn’t their biological sister, but I didn’t want to overthink it. They’d been siblings for over two decades, after all.
