Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3107

“Mom’s health has been deteriorating. She has to see the doctor every month for injections and medications. It requires a lot of money.”

Jacob, Celine’s eldest brother, stated the purpose of their visit.

“That’s right. Jacob’s and my salaries aren’t that high. We have to pay for our own family’s expenses too. Dad used to pay for all the costs, and you’ve also contributed money when you started earning some. Now that Dad… Mom doesn’t have an income, and you’ve left our family too.

“Jacob and I are struggling to support our families. We don’t have extra money to take care of Mom. She has to get injections and medications frequently. It really costs a lot, and we can’t afford it.”

Caroline turned toward Carmen.

Carmen avoided her gaze and dared not meet her in the eye.

Asking Caroline for money was her sons’ idea.

Carmen refused to visit at first. The woman knew Caroline hated their family and that they had mistreated her since the daughters’ swap. In the past, no matter how much Caroline hated them, she would still contribute to the family’s living allowance after she started earning money because she thought they were family.

When the truth was revealed and Caroline found out why she was abused throughout her childhood, she lost the little love she had for the Dotts.

Resentment and hatred took over.

Carmen heard of Caroline’s performance after she returned to the Fisher family. She knew Caroline was getting stronger and gaining Belinda Fisher’s recognition. On the flip side, that indicated Celine’s weakening position.

Celine’s life with the Fishers would only get tougher.

She would also lose the chance to be the matriarch.

Upon knowing those facts, Carmen hated Caroline for putting her biological daughter at a disadvantage.

However, it was the Dotts that had caused Celine’s death. If they did not insist on bringing her back with them, she would not have gotten agitated and accidentally fallen to her death.

After that, Carmen’s sons said, “Celine’s dead. We’ve lost our only hope. Since we’re here, we should get some money from Caroline.”
