Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3109

Belinda would also pass on some stuff for Marc to bring home to Caroline.

In the past, Marc was deeply trusted by the Fisher family.

If the Dotts claimed their child was sick, Belinda would lend a helping hand.

With such consideration, the Dotts finally decided against killing Caroline.

However, they treated her badly. Caroline survived her childhood purely due to luck. It was also thanks to her neighbors’ concern that saved her from starving to death.

When Caroline returned to the Fisher family, an elderly woman who used to look after her when she was young had passed away. However, the woman’s daughter was still alive. Caroline gave that family a huge sum of money.

She even arranged stable jobs for them in her own company to repay her gratitude to the elderly woman for protecting and feeding her back when she was young.

“Even so, you raised her. You’re old and poor now. She should be repaying you with money since she’s so rich,” Jacob complained.

His younger brother, Michael, added, “It’s fine if she doesn’t give us money. She isn’t our blood anyway. On the other hand, our biological sister had never visited us or given us money after knowing she was one of us. She didn’t even give us jobs.

“If she had given us easy jobs with high income, we wouldn’t have to work so hard just to put food on the table.”

Carmen sighed and said, “Celine didn’t grow up with us. Having lived in luxury since she was young and always thought of herself as the Fisher family’s heir, how could she have accepted the sudden truth that we were her true family?

“Besides, Belinda couldn’t bear Celine leaving and let her stay as the second young lady of the Fishers. Therefore, Celine’s priority was to please Belinda, not us.

“Let’s go. Get Cel’s ashes too.”

Celine was after all Carmen’s daughter. It was only right to take her ashes back with them.

Jacob said in disdain, “Why should we bring her ashes back? Even if she’s dead, she might not want to return with us.”

Michael chimed in, “He’s right. What if she becomes an evil spirit and haunts us after dying in such an unpleasant way?”

The brothers felt guilty.

While they did not push Celine off, she did fall because they got into a fight and shoved each other.
