Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3151

Zachary’s expression told her that he had zero impression of Mrs. Torres.

“I told you you wouldn’t know of her,” Serenity whispered. “Sonny’s coming. Let’s talk about it at home later. I have to give Liberty a heads-up later tonight too.”

Liberty was currently stationed in Jensburg and Duncan still could not walk. They were not meeting as often as before. Even if they had eight hundred calls a day, it was still a long-distance relationship, and feelings could fade easily.

It was hard to guarantee that Duncan would not have a change of heart if an attentive and considerate woman who could help him in his business appeared by his side at this time.

Zachary spoke up for Duncan. “Duncan won’t have a change of heart. You don’t know him as well as I do. I’ve known him for over twenty years and he’s been a good buddy of mine for many years now. He’s very serious when it comes to relationships.

“When he falls in love, it’s for life. He has never dared to fall for someone because of how seriously he takes it, afraid he’ll fall for the wrong person and get hurt deeply.

“He definitely doesn’t feel anything for that Mrs. Torres. He only has eyes for your sister.”

Zachary stopped there because he did not want Sonny who was approaching to overhear their conversation.

Sonny was still young and did not know what romantic love was, but he could understand that someone was trying to steal Dunc away from Mom.

Mrs. Torres had not confessed her feelings for Duncan yet either. Serenity was just being a bit sensitive and thought Mrs. Torres felt something for Duncan.

Before they were sure of it, for the sake of Duncan and Mrs. Torres’s reputations, the couple would talk about it in private but not elsewhere, lest they become rumor mongers.

“Aunt Ser, these are for you.” Sonny had taken one packet of his favorite snack and two others for Serenity.

The snack shelf in Zachary’s office was filled with small bites Sonny and Serenity loved.

However, they had not seen each other for quite a while. Who knew if Laurence was taller than he was now?

That was why he had to eat more to grow taller.

Serenity took the unopened packets of snacks from Sonny and placed them on the coffee table, smiling. “Don’t eat so much. Just finish the one you’ve opened. Your mom is right—kids won’t want to eat proper meals if they’ve eaten too much junk food.”

“Let him have them. He can eat them on the way there.” Zachary was about to pick the packets up but withdrew his hand when Serenity gave him a look. He patted Sonny’s head and said, “Sonny, I think you’d better listen to your Aunt Ser. There are lots of your favorite snacks at home. You can have them later after dinner.”

“Uncle Zak, you’re really scared of Aunt Ser.”

“That’s right. I’m not afraid of anything but your Aunt Ser. That’s why whatever she says goes.” Zachary did not shy away from the fact that he was whipped.
