Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3237

Mrs. Douglas smiled warmly. “You’re so young, so you’ll recover quickly. You won’t go out of shape. I’ve taken care of many rich women after their pregnancies and they all managed to regain their slim figures and lose their pregnancy weight quickly by working out.”

She refrained from pointing out that Carrie had only miscarried and could not possibly go out of shape in just two weeks. Even if Carrie ate well every day, she did not eat a huge amount and usually only tried once of whatever additional soups and superfoods Mrs. Douglas brought before asking them to be taken away. Sometimes, she would ask Mrs. Douglas to eat them without trying them herself.

Carrie stopped worrying. She said, “I’ll cut down on my food. I don’t want to become a fat whale at the end of my recovery. How long does it usually take? It’s so boring just lying in bed every day.”

If she did not appear, would Serenity forget who she was? Would she have to spend even more time trying to form a connection with her then? If she could, she really did not want to deal with Serenity and the others again.

Serenity was living well and the people around her had happy lives too. This made Carrie envious beyond words, especially of Camryn, that blind bitch. Camryn was just as happy now as she had suffered in the past, and she had even married the man Carrie wanted.

Mrs. Douglas explained, “Those who can afford it take up to a month off to recover, while those who can’t usually just take a week to rest before going back to their former routine. You’re young and can afford it, so it’s best if you rest for a month.”

She did not know Carrie was essentially a sugar baby and a pawn. She thought the middle-aged Mr. Longbottom had married Carrie because she was young and pretty, although she had noticed that this huge villa was empty apart from Carrie and two bodyguards.

Mrs. Douglas had never even met Mr. Longbottom before. She only knew his surname and that he was middle-aged because Carrie told her.
