Chapter 100 Agreeing to Nancy’s Request
As soon as the call was connected, Nancy asked, “Have you read today’s news?”
“Yes.”
His voice was shallow.
“Are… you angry?” Nancy asked tentatively.
“Very.”
Nicholas had kept a lot of anger under control as he faced Nancy.
“What will you do if you find that person?” Nancy asked again.
“I’ll file a lawsuit for damaging my reputation and leave the rest to the lawyers. He’ll go to jail.”
Nancy’s heart sank when she heard this.
She had expected that Nicholas wouldn’t give up, but she didn’t expect “imprisonment”.
When her mother left, she repeatedly told her that if Felix did something wrong, as long as it wasn’t too serious, she should save him from their father-daughter relationship and not neglect him.
These were her mother’s last words. She couldn’t bear to refuse it.
Besides, he was her father. No matter what happened, he’s her family after all.
She could refuse to give him money. She could refuse to see him. She could even act like she didn’t have a father.
But if he’s imprisoned, how could she stand by and watch?
Besides…
Nancy touched her belly, where a little life had been conceived.
The baby would be affected if Grandpa was arrested and had a criminal history.
She couldn’t allow this as a mother.
Nancy took a deep breath and said, “I’m sorry, Nicholas. My father did it.”
“What did you say?”

If he hadn’t heard Nancy say it with his ears, Nicholas would’ve thought he heard it wrong.
“You heard me right. It was my father. He told me yesterday that he secretly took photos of you. and Madelline. He thought you had cheated, so he was outraged and sorry for me. I kicked him. out, but I didn’t expect he…
He understood everything, even if Nancy said nothing about what happened next.
“Why do you tell me this?” Nicholas asked.
“Even if I don’t tell you, with your ability, I believe you can find out soon. And,” she continued bitterly, “he’s my father, after all. I’m not cold-blooded enough to watch him go to jail.”
“So you call me hoping that I would let him go?”
“That’s right.
After Nancy said it, she grabbed her phone tighter.
During the wait, she felt pretty nervous and was sweating profusely, especially in her palms.
Would he agree? It was not a small request, after all.
Nancy knew that if it had been someone else, Nicholas would file a lawsuit and not show mercy after finding out the person.
What about her?
Would he make any exceptions?
Nancy’s heart was pounding with anxiety. Then, suddenly, Nicholas’ voice came from over there.
“Okay!”
Okay? Did he say okay?
Nancy was taken aback. She held the phone in shock for a few seconds before realizing what she was doing and asking again, “Are you serious? Did you agree not to pursue the case?”
“Yeah!”
Although very brief, his voice was firm and loud.
Nancy was very excited, maybe too excited. Tears suddenly flowed out of her eyes.
“Thank you. Nicholas. Thank you very much!” Nancy was excited. Nicholas’ answer was entirely beyond her expectations.

She initially thought it would take a lot of effort. She even prepared a lot of excuses.
Unexpectedly, she didn’t use it at all.
“Didn’t I agree? Why are you still crying?”
Nicholas quickly heard her sobbing voice over the phone and said softly.
Nancy immediately wiped away her tears and smiled. “I’m happy but also surprised. I didn’t expect you to agree.”
“Oh? Then I’m really curious. What if I disagree?”
“Then I can only try my best, do my best, and follow God’s will.”
Nancy hung up and called Felix right away.
Felix was delighted when he answered her call. “My dear, do you see the trending topic today? What do you feel about my trick? Isn’t it excellent?”
“I’m telling you, as soon as this situation is made public, everybody will know that Nicholas is married. The cheating scandal will be proven true if he divorces and becomes with that witch, Madelline. Even if you file for divorce, the judge and public opinion will be on your side.”
“Are you done?” Nancy asked coldly.
Then she said, “I told Nicholas what you’ve done.”
“What?” Felix couldn’t believe what he heard. Then he immediately yelled, “Nancy, you ungrateful wretch! You’re heartless! You sold me out! Are you still a human?”
Nancy sneered. “If I’m not a human, you’d have been sent to jail long ago.”
“Jail?” Felix didn’t believe it at all. “How is it possible? I just posted a post and sold a few photos.
Don’t scare me.”
“I’m not scaring you. Because your actions have affected Nicholas’ image, the Sallows’ stock has plummeted, and you’ve caused damage to his reputation. The Sallows legal team is well-known across the nation. If they take action, you’ll undoubtedly end up in jail.”
Felix still didn’t believe it. “Stop scaring me. Do you think scaring me by going to jail will make
me afraid?”
“It’s the best if you’re not afraid. You can keep doing it. Don’t blame me for not saving you.” Nancy became irritated.
“Felix, let me give you one last warning. Even if I can temporarily save you, I cannot for the rest of your life. Don’t rechallenge Nicholas. You may burn yourself by playing with fire.”
