Seven Days Seven Nights (Nicholas and Nancy) novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127 Nancy Fails Into Coma

Nancy was in a daze, unsure whether she had heard him talk. The only thing she could feel was Nicholas constandy holding her hand and saying something to her, his expression seemingly distressed and worried.

“Cold… Nicholas, I’m cold…”

Without thinking twice, he immediately got under the blanket and held her in his arms.

“I’m so cold,” cried Nancy constantly. Her body was shivering non-stop, her face and lips. thoroughly pale.

Nicholas was beyond distressed as he watched her looking so frail. “Don’t be afraid, Sweetie. I’ll be by your side. You’ll be fine.” He tightened the hug and pressed his cheek against her to keep her

warm.

After persisting for more than ten minutes, Nancy finally felt a little warmer and stopped chanting that she was cold. Perhaps because she was tired, her long eyelashes drooped as she closed her eyes and fell asleep quietly. Now that her body felt warm, her complexion gradually improved. Her face was not as pale as before and had turned slightly rosier.

Seeing she had fallen asleep, Nicholas lowered his head and kissed her forehead softly. “Sleep tight. I’ll be by your side.”

It was then that he could finally calm down a little and set his mind slightly at rest. However, he instantly furrowed his brows tightly and fell into deep concern again when he recalled the scene of her spitting out blood in the bathroom earlier.

“How’s the road condition? Is the doctor still stuck in traffic?” he asked again.

At this juncture, he could be rest assured only when the doctor came and informed him. personally that Nancy was fine.

“The traffic has cleared, so the doctor should be here soon.”

“Good.”

Nancy could not sleep well as she kept sobbing in pain.

“Hot… Out of the blue, she cried out while pulling at her clothes, her feet kicking the blanket. frantically and swinging randomly,

Seeing this, Nicholas reached out and touched her body. Only then did he realize her body was burning. At once, he measured her body temperature and was shocked to discover that her body. temperature had risen to nearly 104 F.

How can this be? Her body was still freezing earlier. But now, she’s suddenly having a high fever.

As he thought of that, he became increasingly anxious that sweat beaded his forehead. Since her condition was severe, he could only wait for the doctor’s arrival, for he dared not give her antipyretics rashly.

She kicked away every inch of the blanket that was covering her. Yet, she was still sweating fro the heat to the point that her hair and clothes were soaked in stains of sweat.

“Go and fill the bathtub. The water temperature should be just right-neither too cold nor hot.”

Nicholas carried Nancy into the bathroom once the bathtub was filled with water. She felt slightly comfortable after a bath and changing into a clean, fresh set of clothes.

Perhaps due to her high fever, she was in a complete state of confusion at the moment. Her mind was fuzzy, and her whole body felt lethargic. She could not even open her eyes even if she wanted.

On the other hand, Nicholas was like a cat on a hot tin roof. Fortunately, the doctor arrived at that moment. After checking on Nancy, the doctor’s diagnosis remained the same: it was caused by the cold. Only the situation had gotten more complex and severe this time, which explained why her fever alternated with chills.

In addition, her body was already weak and had yet to fully recover in the first place as she had just gotten discharged from the hospital due to a car accident. Furthermore, her body lacked nutrition from not eating anything for a whole day, and she even got exposed to cold wind. As a result, the cold severely attacked her immune system in full fury this time.

eyes and

After taking the cold medicine and having an IV drip, Nancy’s body temperature dropped significantly, and her body finally felt slightly better. Feeling light-headed, she closed her dozed off. Perhaps because the medicine had taken effect, she was no longer in pain and slept fairly well.

After a while, Samuel came. When Nicholas saw him, he asked the doctor to leave first.

“Check on her,” Nicholas spoke first.

Samuel hummed. Then, he placed his medical kit down and walked toward Nancy. After diagnosing her for a while, he came to the same conclusion as the doctor earlier.

“When will she get better?” Nicholas asked, his brows remained furrowed.

“It depends on her condition. If she rests well and replenishes her nutrition sufficiently after her fever has subsided today, she will recover in three to four days. But if she doesn’t, not only will she not recover even in a week, but it’s also easy for her to suffer from a relapse.”

“Okay. I get it.”

Once Nancy finished having her IV drip and slept soundly, Nicholas turned off the bedroom light. and left only a wall lamp. Then, he tucked her in, lowered his head, and kissed her forehead. “I’m going out for a while. Don’t worry. I’ll be back for you soon.”

When he exited the room, the corming and handsome Samuel was gracefully leaning against the railing on the cond floor with a tense of abstinence and aloofness oozing all over him. With a pair of orbs resembling a cheetah, he exuded a growing sense of distancing aura.

Nicholas lit a cigarette and handed it to him before lighting one for himself. Shortly after, the space slowly wreathed in smoke, and the two equally exceptional, good-looking faces became blurry.

“Will you leave again now that you’re back this time?” Nicholas was the first to speak.

Flicking the cigarette ashes, Samuel replied, “Not for the time being” He was a renowned surgeon. He had been studying abroad throughout these years and only returned today after he had completed his training.
