Seven Days Seven Nights (Nicholas and Nancy) novel Chapter 54

Chapter 54 Nicholas, I Miss You

Nancy blushed immediately.

Even though they were in the underground garage, she dared not do it in public.

She bit her lip, looking like a kitten.

Nicholas gazed at Lynn and snorted softly.

Lynn understood immediately. He turned around and shouted to the bodyguards beside him, “Turn around quickly.”

Nancy felt more shy as she listened.

She hurried forward, tiptoed, and kissed Nicholas lightly on the face.

Then, she walked away quickly.

Nicholas was satisfied and smiled sincerely.

“Can we talk now?” Nancy asked with a blushing face.

Nicholas held her hand and got into the car. They sat side by side in the back.

Lynn drove in front until the car was driving smoothly on the road. Nicholas said, “I gave him money and warned him not to gamble again. Otherwise, his hand will be broken.”

After hearing this, Nancy was silent.

“Are you angry?”

Nancy shook her head and said, “No, I just felt miserable.”

“Since I was a child, I have envied the loving and happy family because that is something I don’t have. I never expected how much he loves me, nor how much money he will make for me to live a rich life. I hope he can be honest, hard-working, motivated, and earn money with his hard work. like other fathers.”

“Even if our life is a little bit harder and worse that we can’t buy our favorite dolls or beautiful clothes, I’m super happy and satisfied.”

“But even such a small wish can’t be realized.”

The more Nancy spoke, the lower her voice became.

These are the most unbearable pasts in her life and the pasts she can hardly tell.

When she grew up, she hid everything about her “father” because she was afraid that others would find out that she had a father who was addicted to gambling and thus make wild guesses about her and her mother.

She kept these secrets all the time and never told anyone.

But now, she told Nicholas about this.

Not for sympathy, Nancy wants to talk about this because she trusts Nicholas.

“You like dolls and beautiful clothes?” Nicholas asked.

Nancy nodded and answered, “Of course, every girl like those kinds of things.”

“I remember that on my tenth birthday, my mother gave me a huge and beautiful doll with blond hair, big eyes, and long eyelashes. I liked it very much, but then…

Nancy’s eyes dimmed obviously, and she said, “My father was drunk and threw away my doll.”

“I remember it rained heavily that day. I was very sad when I heard it. I rushed out to look for it. I rummaged through the entire trash but couldn’t find the doll.”

“What happened next?”

“Later…” Nancy raised her head, blinked hard, and continued, “Later, my mother said she would buy me another one that was the same, but I refused.

“Why not?”

“Because the doll was very expensive and cost over ten dollars. Felix was outraged when he found out and beat my mother in front of me.”

“I remember being very thin and not tall at that time. I cried desperately and threw myself at my mother, but he twisted me away with one hand and threw me to the ground. I hated him at that time. I always thought that when I grow up, I can take my mother away from him and bring my mother to live a happy life.”

“However, my mother didn’t wait until that day, and I didn’t fulfil my promise either.”

Nancy cried silently.

No one knows about this past except Linda..

It may be because Linda has the same experience as her, so they always gather together to keep warm when they are young.

Later, they all grew up. They have become glamorous, intellectual, and elegant.

But their childhood trauma will be remembered forever.

Those muddy and smelly days that almost drove people to a desperate situation were like a puddle of mud, disgusting and making people want to vomit.

Nancy would have almost forgotten about Felix if he hadn’t appeared again.

But Felix is her father. No matter how much she hates him, how can she get rid of him?

“How much does he owe?” Nancy thought of the critical point and asked Nicholas.

“250 thousand dollars.”

Nicholas did not hide this.

“What?”

Nancy’s eyes widened, and she could hardly believe what she heard.

In the past, he owed several hundred, and later thousands, tens of thousands.

She thought that no matter how enormous the amount was this time, it would probably just thousands of dollars.

But she didn’t expect it to be almost 280 thousand dollars.

“You just gave him such a large amount of money?” Nancy was surprised.

“It’s just a little money for me. I can afford it,” Nicholas replied easily.

Nancy looked at him and explained seriously, “Nicholas, this is not just a matter of money. If you give him 280 thousand dollars today, he can ask for 700 thousand dollars next time, and then it will be 7 million dollars. I understand him very well.”

“You will only make him more greedy. He will continue to take your money until it runs out.”

“No, he can’t just take that money. I’m going to get it back.”

The more Nancy thought about it, the angrier she felt.

Nicholas grabbed her hand and comforted her patiently, “Don’t worry, since I gave it, I must have my plan. I will not let him keep squeezing me.”

“Are you sure?”

Nancy was still worried.

“Well, don’t worry.”

Hearing Nicholas’ reassurance, Nancy felt relieved.
