Chapter 344
Lizetta muddenly retracted her hand in a flurry, slipped out of bed, and said, “I’m feeling a lot better now. Let’s room resources. We should get going *
Hamilton nodded, offering Lizetta his support.
As they exited the ER, Lizetta caught sight of a tall, imposing figure.
the emergency
The man, tumed away from the ER, was busy on his phone, clad in a sleek, dark sult, exuding an aura of strength and confidence. At first glance, he bore a striking resemblance to someone she knew.
Lizetta froze, her heart tightening.
“What’s wrong?” Hamilton asked, concem lacing his voice.
As the man turned around, Lizetta realized he had a distinguished look, with sharp features and a certain nonchalance in his demeanor.
He was nothing like Remington, yet his presence was just as commanding.
Lizetta recognized him as Hamilton’s cousin, the one who had saved her earlier.
Wil sorted, 11l get him home ASAP” Jerome spoke into his phone before hanging up and nodding at Lizetta, then turning to Hamilton with a question.
“Ready?”
Hamilton nodded, “Ill take you to the observation room for some rest”
Lizetta quickly interjected, “No, no, that won’t be necessary. I’ve already taken enough of your time. You must be in a hurry. I can manage on my own. Thank you both, you should get going”
As Lizetta reached for her bag in Jerome’s hand, he handed it over, insisting, “It’s no trouble at all. Let Hamilton take you to the room.”
He then told Hamilton, “I w
I wait for you in the parking lot.”
Suddenly remembering something. Jerome tumed back to Lizetta, “Oh, and your husband called a while ago. I took the liberty of hanging up.”
Lizetta clenched her bag strap tighter, instinctively replying, “Thank you, Mr. Madden
Jerome raised an eyebrow, “No need for thanks. The call was just getting on my nerves.”
Lizetta managed an awkward smile, unsure of how else to respond.
Then, Jerome unexpectedly handed her a business card, leaving Lizetta somewhat puzzled, though she accepted it politely.
“I remembered where I’ve seen you before, Jerome said. “I saw your dance at a selection competition at the dance academy. Ms. Gardenia, your performance was quite moving. It’s a shame you decided to leave the troupe. May I ask why?”
Lizetta was taken aback, then she recalled the competition Jerome mentioned for the Black Swan Dance, under the Madden Group, a major player in the cultural sector. The Madden Group had made significant achievements in women’s sports and later founded the Black Swan Dance: Lizetta had been selected to join but chose not to, despite the troupe becoming one of the top three in the country. Gripping her bag strap, Lizetta’s voice was unexpectedly hoarse, “As you’ve seen, Mr. Madden, I went back home then got married.” Giving up a promising career to stay with a man who never seemed to be home.
Four years later, she was in such a mess again.
Admitting this aloud made her feel embarrassed and ashamed, and she lowered her head.
However, neither Hamilton nor Jerome showed any sign of surprise or disdain.
“Life is about making choices at different stages, Jerome said. “The Black Swan Dance is currently preparing a major musical that includes a role for a pregnant woman. Ms. Gardenia, if you are interested, feel free to contact me.”
Lizetta looked up in shock, but Jerome simply nodded and walked away.
Clutching the business card, Lizetta urged Hamilton to leave. She insisted on not being escorted to the observation room, so Hamilton reluctantly followed Jerome out.
Walking towards the observation room alone, Lizetta placed the business card in her purse and saw her phone, remembering Jerome mentioning Remington’s call.
She dialed the number, and to her surprise, as the call connected, she looked up to see Remington.
He wasn’t alone, though; Stella was by his side.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
