Jaden didn’t even hesitate. “No.”
Luna grinned. “Alright, how about 600 thousand dollars a year? All you have to do is cook for me.”
Jaden shook his head. “Still no.”
Luna upped the ante. “Fine, 2 million dollars.
“No,
Finally, in frustration, Luna joked, “What if I use my looks as a bargaining chip?”
Jaden smirked. “Uhm, nope.”
Luna laughed, giving up on the idea altogether. With her arms full of veggies and eggs, and Jaden holding a duck in one hand and a pumpkin in the other, they strolled down the garden path, quietly chatting. The scene looked like something straight out of a peaceful, rustic painting.
Meanwhile, Linda stood hidden in the shadows of the nearby grove, clutching a plastic bag, her eyes burning with anger. She had been watching them for a while.
From the moment she arrived, she saw Jaden and that woman wandering the vegetable patch together. Jaden was opening water bottles for her, wiping her swear, and showing her how to pick vegetables. They looked way too comfortable with each other.
She couldn’t believe it. Just days ago, Jaden was dating some rich girl in Kitmore City. Now, here he was playing farmer with another woman. What a player, she thought bitterly.
But then, she wondered. Why? Did I mess him up that badly when I left him three years ago? Is this why he’s turned into such a player?”
I’ve made him this way, she thought, eyes welling up with tears ruined a good man
But, in a strange way, it also made her feel important. If I had that kind of effect on him, it must mean he really loved me. Maybe he hasn’t truly moved on. Maybe I still have a chance. I just need to stay calm, I shouldn’t push Jaden away again”
She watched Jaden and the woman disappear into the house, walking up the flower-covered path. The flowers looked even more vibrant than they did three years ago, but none of them were hers. She couldn’t stop wondering who Jaden had planted them with, and the thought annoyed her. The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she got, wishing she could stomp all over them.
When she reached the field, she saw the plastic bag she had dropped off yesterday still sitting there, untouched. That made her feel even worse.
She felt so awful she could scream, wanting to confront Jaden and ask why he ignored her completely. But instead, she quietly placed the new plastic bag down and left without a word
Jaden was stubborn. It had taken her five years to win him over the first time. Now, she figured this was just another round in the game.
Meanwhile, Luna wasn’t in a hurry to return to Kitmore City since the director was visiting the next day to see the location She was more than happy to stay another day with Jaden.
After lunch, Jaden started packing up to take the two elders back to Kitmore City. Luna watched him pack so neatly and couldn’t help but think, ‘He’d make a great family man.

The next morning, Tommy, Mose, and the Community Relations teams arrived at Oxhorn Village. When they saw the Donovan family’s house, they were blown away. “This is it!” Tommy said, excited. “It’s perfect for the movie. We don’t need to change a thing. Just capturing it as it is will make the outdoor senes incredible. We’ve hit the jackpot.”
Seeing Jaden picking vegetables in the field. Tommy and Mose were stunned. They asked him right away if he would be up
for a role in the movie.
Jaden just said. “No” His short answer left both guys disappointed.
“Later at noon. Athena showed up to pick up the grandparents. Tommy and Mose were just as shocked and asked her if she was interested in acting. They even offered her a big role right then and there.
Athena smiled and politely declined. “Thanks, but I’m too busy for filming a movie”
Tommy, curious, asked what she was busy with, and Athena replied, straight-faced, Tm working on scientific research- something that could change the world.”
That pretty much shut down any more questions. Tommy didn’t dare dig deeper, worried he might be stepping on something too important for the future of science and technology.
Since Athena’s alter ego, “Samira,” had never gone public or shared any personal details with the media. Tommy and Mose had no clueshe was a famous screenwriter. Mose just admired her natural beauty and calm demeanor. Athena had this quiet confidence, like even if chaos broke loose around her, she wouldn’t flinch.
During lunch. the conversation turned to movies, especially the one they were working on. Athena didn’t say much, but whenever she chimed in, her insights left everyone amazed, particularly Tommy and Mose-
Tommy couldn’t help but say, “You’d make a huge impact in the Stm industry if you ever decided to jump in.
Athena just smiled, keeping quiet. She was already highly accomplished in her own field, and with her time so limited, she had to focus on what mattered most
After lunch, she waited for her grandparents to finish their nap and then drove them to Kitmore City.
It was their first time at the new place, so it was a pretty big deal. A tasty dinner was ready, and everyone made sure to come back on time to eat together. After dinner, they all grabbed their wheelchairs and headed out for a little stroll around the neighborhood.
Fiona looked around at the big, beautiful villa and the lovely scenery outside. She felt so happy. “When the other kids come here, everything will be perfect. After that, we won’t have any regrets when it’s our time to go
Athena grinned at her grandparents and said, “Don’t worry, Grandpa and Grandma. The surgeon who will take care of you is the best in the world. You’re going to live a long time.”
Athena meant it, too. Even though her grandparents were almost 80 and not in the best shape, they were tough and had a positive attitude. They weren’t facing any life-threatening issues, and with Dr. Annie’s skills, living another ten to twenty years wasn’t out of the question.
Her grandparents chuckled. “Athena, you’re like a fairy sent from above. Your kind words mean so much. Thank you. dear.
Since Athena had some work to do, she skipped out on shopping with everyone. After walking her grandparents to the entrance of the villa, she headed back to her room to go over Cade’s medical report and come up with a surgery plan.
By the time she wrapped up around 10 p.m., she was feeling a bit tired. She made herself a cup of coffee and settled in to catch up on the news online while sipping it. That’s when she stumbled upon some alarming gossip about Matthew.
