At 11 p.m., just before Marco’s birthday party came to an end, Joy announced that she needed to go to sleep before midnight. and politely said her goodbyes to Marco.
Marco couldn’t bear to say goodbye and insisted on walking her back himself. She didn’t refuse.

Joy, who had been watching Marco get beaten, spoke calmly, “I’ll go to the forest with you.”
The hooligans were taken aback by her obedience. After a few moments of surprise, their expressions twisted into even more wretched and disgusting smiles as they gave her a thumbs-up. “We didn’t expect the school belle from a prestigious university to be so sensible! Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you enjoy yourself.”
Marco squirmed like a wriggling earthworm, desperately urging Joy not to go.
But Joy didn’t even look at him. She calmly followed the hooligans into the forest.
In an SUV not far away, Lucas raised his binoculars and peered through the half-open window. He watched as Joey trailed the group of hooligans into the forest, a smug smile spreading across his lips.
Although it benefited those hooligans, it was still better than Joy enjoying her time alone.
Before long, Joy and the others vanished into the forest. Lucas couldn’t see a thing. He could only imagine in his mind, swallowing hard with envy for those guys.
As his thoughts spiraled, he suddenly saw Joy emerge from the woods. Through his binoculars, he noticed she was well- dressed, her hair neatly styled, and her posture elegant. She didn’t appear to have been harmed at all.
Lucas was surprised.
It had only been five or six minutes since Joy had entered the forest. No matter how inept those hooligans were, they shouldn’t have finished sex in such a short time. Lucas couldn’t help but wonder what happened in the forest.
Through the binoculars, Lucas saw Joy help Marco into the car and leave, but the hooligans never came out of the forest.
After waiting for another ten minutes, Lucas finally couldn’t hold it in anymore. He put down the binoculars, got out of the car, and walked towards the forest.
When he arrived, he turned on the flashlight on his phone and carefully scanned the area. What he saw was shocking. The six hooligans were lying on the ground, motionless, seemingly fainted.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you guys?” He quickly walked over and kicked one of them twice. “Tell me if you’re dead or alive. Who should I call? The ambulance or 911?”
No one responded.

Lucas kicked each of them one by one, but none of them responded. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he quickly squatted down to examine their faces and bodies.
The sight of the hooligans made his stomach churn. Their left and right elbows were bent at horrifying angles. Just looking at them sent a sharp pain through his own elbow, as if he were the one whose joints had been broken.

For a moment, he felt a chill run down his spine and his mouth go dry. He instinctively began to retreat, but as he stepped back, he tripped over a rock and fell to the ground.
He wanted to get up, but his legs felt weak and couldn’t support him. Instead, he crawled out of the forest, using the nearby cars for support as he made his way to his SUV. He opened the door, climbed inside, and sped away.
After driving a considerable distance, he tossed the phone with the black market SIM card into the river and vowed never to provoke Joy again.
Meanwhile, sitting in Joy’s car, Marco asked in a hoarse voice, “Are… are you alright?”
Joy smiled. “I’m fine.”
Marco gulped. “How did those people… let you go? Should we call the police?”
“There’s no need to call the police,” Joy said with a smile. “I talked to them. They were persuaded, and they let me go. I don’t think they’ll do anything bad again.”
Marco looked incredulous. “That’s… that’s it?”
Joy nodded. “Yeah, that’s it.”
She parked the car in front of the hospital. “It’s getting late. I won’t stay with you. Call your family or friends to accompany
you.”
Marco opened his mouth. He really wanted to ask her to stay with him now that he was injured.
However, he recalled his earlier embarrassment and could only say, “Thank you for bringing me here. Be careful on your way back.”
Joy nodded, closed the car door, and left.
