Chapter 317
Two days later, an explosive piece of news spread through Kitmore City.
Ethan, one of the top real estate moguls in the country, arrived quietly at Bard Property’s sales office in Kitmore City, wearing a mask and driving a modest car with only one assistant
After thoroughly reviewing the information about the third phase of Bard Property, he decided to purchase the entire top floor, consisting of nine luxury apartments. He selected the most expensive, fully renovated package. He planned to gift the apartments to outstanding employees of his Kitmore City branch as a reward.
The young woman who was assisting him had just graduated and didn’t recognize who he was. She simply provided him with enthusiastic service.
It wasn’t until word spread that someone was buying an entire floor of luxury apartments that the sales office erupted in excitement. People rushed over to witness the signing of the deal by such a wealthy client, and someone finally recognized Ethan, gasping in shock.
“My god, isn’t that Ethan Frowick?”
“Mr. Frowick is buying an apartment in our small development? What is happening?”
Some people attempted to greet him.
Ethan did not deny his identity and didn’t mind people taking pictures. He explained that a colleague had told him the location was excellent. After inspecting the development himself, he found the quality to be good, so he decided to make the purchase.
The news quickly spread throughout the entire community.
From Wesley and other high–level executives at Bard Property to the homeowners and construction workers, everyone came to catch a glimpse of the business tycoon.
Naturally, Wesley personally greeted Ethan.
After exchanging a few words, Ethan was impressed and jokingly said, “I’ve heard your family’s restaurant has a great reputation. Now that I’m one of your big clients, shouldn’t you invite me to a meal at your place?”
Donovan’s Restaurant had been highly recommended to him by Matthew. Since Ethan was already in Kitmore City, it was only fitting for him to try it.
Wesley smiled. “Of course.”
He immediately invited a few available executives and the young sales assistant who had assisted Ethan to join them for a meal at Donovan’s Restaurant.
The executives Wesley had selected were well–mannered and understood their boundaries. They did not try to curry favor with Ethan because of his status, maintaining a respectful, warm attitude without being overly attentive or inquisitive.
Wesley had a prestigious university degree and experience as a senior executive at a state–owned enterprise. He frequently interacted with high–ranking foreign guests and traveled abroad for business, so he naturally knew how to conduct himself.
Ethan enjoyed the meal, which made him more talkative. He generously shared industry experiences and insider information with those present.
At the end of the meal, he patted Wesley on the shoulder, speaking earnestly. “I entered the real estate business nearly thirty years ago, just as it was beginning to take off in this country.

“Based on my and some of my old friends‘ understanding and analysis of the economic situation, the real estate prices have been overinflated for years. It’s about time for the bubble to burst.”
He added, “My advice to all of you in the industry is to try and offload any land or property holdings in the next two to three years. Don’t invest heavily in buying more land, building blindly, or speculating on property.
“The real estate industry is nearing a harsh winter. You should all prepare for it.”
This statement took everyone at the table by surprise.
The current real estate market was still booming, so they didn’t expect a winter to be on the horizon.
Ethan didn’t elaborate further, only smiling. “What I’ve shared with you is just my personal view. Many outside of this circle have different opinions and there’s a lot of debate. Take your time to think it over.”
With that, the meal was essentially over. The group exited the restaurant, seeing Ethan off as he got into his car.
Ethan pulled out his phone, smiling as he turned to Wesley. “Your restaurant is indeed fantastic, but the lines are too long. Let’s exchange our iMessage. Maybe next time I come by, your restaurant can let me sneak in through the back door.”
Wesley, deeply appreciative of Ethan’s guidance, immediately responded, “Whenever you stop by, there will always be a seat waiting for you.”
Seeing Ethan take the initiative to add Wesley on iMessage, the others at the table were filled with envy. They also felt reassured, thinking that if someone as esteemed as Ethan trusted Wesley, they were definitely following the right leader.
As Wesley watched Ethan’s car drive away, he found himself deep in thought. He pondered if he should purchase the empty plot of land next to Bard Property.
While Wesley pondered this, the news of Ethan’s visit to Bard Property to purchase apartments had already spread like wildfire on social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok
Sensing the buzz, real estate agents, trend–chasing influencers, and various local media outlets in Kitmore City flocked to Bard Property, eager to uncover every detail about Ethan’s purchase. They sensationalized the story in their reports, embellishing the details.
By morning, the entire city was abuzz about Bard Garden’s supposedly exceptional location. People interested in purchasing property were all talking about it.
“Kitmore City has plenty of luxury developments built by Mr. Frowick himself, so why did he choose to buy at Bard Property instead of one of his own projects? Bard Property must be something special.”
“Do we really think we can outdo Mr. Frowick’s judgment? Let’s not overthink this. Tomorrow, we’re signing the contract.”
