When Tina saw Athena, she was astonished by the latter's beauty. "Maria said that her sister is like a fairy, who has descended to the mortal world. No kidding!"
"Athena," she asked with her nose still bleeding, "do you want to play the female lead in my book? Just treat it as experiencing a different life."
"Thank you." Athena smiled as she stopped Tina's bleeding nose and checked her myopic eyes. "But I'm a scientist, and I'm dedicated to promoting human development and progress. I don't have time to film."
Tina didn't know what to say to the rejection.
Zayn was a country-protecting hero whereas Athena was a scientist who was determined to promote social development. Tina felt that these siblings had very noble causes. In comparison, she felt that she was very shallow.
Athena looked into Tina's eyes and said, "Do you want to undergo surgery to correct your short-sightedness and restore your vision to less than 300 degrees?"
Tina was the first friend whom Maria brought home. If Tina wanted to do as suggested, Athena would personally perform the surgery.
"Of course, I want to do it," Tina said pitifully, cupping her chin with her hands. "But my work stops my eyes from getting enough rest. I'm afraid that after the surgery, my eyes will be back to their original state from overuse."
Athena said, "I have a pair of medical contact lenses in my laboratory that can be worn permanently. You don't need to take them off once you put them on.
"After a period of time, the lenses will be absorbed by the eyes, allowing the eyes to receive enough nourishment. Even if the eyes are still short-sighted in the future, it can still be treated.
"If you want, you can undergo corrective surgery first before wearing those contact lenses."
"Wow, that's like magic!" Tina was overjoyed. "I'll do it. I'm willing to do it no matter how much it costs."
While the two of them were talking, a taxi sped over. As soon as the taxi stopped, the door was pushed open. Before the person inside came out, she called out, "Jaden! Jaden! Where are you?"
Athena looked over and saw a beautiful woman getting out of the car and looking around anxiously. 'Luna? Isn't she at the script reading session in Dichester? What is she doing here?' Athena wondered.
Jaden noticed Luna in an instant and quickly walked toward her. "I'm here. I'm fine."
"Jaden!" Luna pounced over and hugged him tightly. Tears kept flowing down her face. "I was so worried about you."
Jaden caressed her head. "Didn't I send you a photo to show that we're alright? Why did you come here?"
"I'll only be at ease if I see you in person." Luna sobbed like a little girl. She then turned her face to Zayn and asked if he was alright.
Zayn said, "Other than the injury on my foot, everything's fine."
Luna continued. "Last night, you were really on the brink of death. I'm sorry that we couldn't help you. Is there anything I can do for you now? If there is, please let me know."
Zayn said, "It's enough that I have your understanding and support. Also, I think you may need some help, like counseling, more than I do."
Luna looked at Jaden with tears in her eyes. "Jaden's the cure to all my ailments. Jaden, let's get married. Right here, right now! I want to be your lawful wife. No matter what happens in the future, I want to be the first to know and face hardships together with you."
Everyone was stunned when they heard that. Luna was one of the top celebrities, so getting married was definitely a big thing for her. They couldn't understand how she could ask for a marriage so directly and decide to get married so simply.
Jaden was also surprised and comforted her. "Of course, we're getting married. Yet, we've just announced our relationship not long ago and you still have a movie to film. Isn't it too sudden to get married like this?"
After saying that, he added, "Getting married involves a lot of people and arrangements. We need to decide the wedding date, what the wedding's going to be like, and so on.
