The villa was enclosed by walls on three sides, with a grand, wrought-iron gate on the front. Beyond the gate stretched a nearly 70-foot-long stone path leading straight to a beautiful two-story building. To the left of the path was a garage, while to the right stood a two-story annex.
In front of the annex stood a graceful magnolia tree in full bloom, its pure white flowers and soft fragrance uplifting to all who were in its presence. Everyone looked at the villa with admiration, their eyes reflecting their awe.
Carla entered the code on the iron gate’s keypad and led the Donovan family inside.
“The garage can accommodate four or five small cars,” she said. The building on the right is the annex, roughly a thousand square feet. It has four rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs, typically used by the butler, tutors, chauffeurs, and servants. As Carla led them into the main house, they were struck by the exquisite interior. They were amazed at how a ten-year-old pre-owned house was so well maintained that it looked about seventy percent new, spotless, and dust-free. What made it even more unbelievable was that, right after the contract was signed, Bard Property transferred nearly 4 million dollars-covering both the house payment and the loan into multiple bank accounts under Wesley’s and Claire’s

After receiving the down payment, William immediately placed the property certificate, house card, and keys on the table. “The villa belongs to you from now on; it’s no longer my concern,” he said with a hearty laugh. With a casual wave, he took his briefcase and headed out the door, leaving the Donovan family dumbfounded. They wondered if everything that had just happened was real. Buying or selling a house was a major life decision, and yet, they had managed to do both in a single day. Their heads were spinning from how surreal it all felt.
Before they could gather their thoughts, Carla cheerfully said, ‘Mr. Donovan, we’ve also prepared the employment contract. Are you willing to accept our offer?”

She then took the employment contract from her briefcase, opened it, and placed it on the table. “The company has signed. the contract. Once you sign it, you’ll be our General Manager. As for your start date, it’s up to you, but we hope it’s within at

Ten minutes later, Carla shook hands with Wesley and sincerely said, “Welcome to Bard Property, Mr. Donovan.”

He was about to invite Carla to dinner that evening as a gesture of gratitude when she took out a car key from her briefcase and placed it on the table. The Donovan family was once again stunned. They had just bought a grand villa at a ridiculously cheap price, been offered a high-paying job, and now received a car.
Before they could respond, Carla said with a grin, “I’ve completed my tasks and need to head back to the office. Goodbye. everyone.” She made a swift exit, practically bolting out the door
They chased after her to the gate but Carla had already left in a security patrol car. As Wesley watched the car drive into the distance, he was deep in thoughts
“Ouch, it hurts! I’m not dreaming, am I?” Arthur pinched his own cheek and then cupped his face with his hand.
Claire and Maria were amused by him, no longer bewildered.
“Since the villa is so clean and well-equipped, how about we move in tonight?” Athena suggested to her family.
“Tonight?” Everyone was surprised. “That’s too soon, isn’t it?”
“I don’t think so,” Athena said seriously. “I feel like the attention on our family hasn’t died down yet. If we continue to stay in the old place, we might be photographed or harassed again.”
Thinking about the recent troubles they had faced, everyone shuddered and looked at Wesley. He quickly snapped out of his daze and said decisively, “I think it’s a good idea. Come on, let’s choose our rooms now. Ladies first, then Arthur, and Claire and I will pick last.”
The family of six walked back to the living room to head upstairs.
“Athena, wait a moment, Claire suddenly called out.
Athena stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her.
Claire took out a piece of paper from her bag, holding it out to her with both hands. “This is an IOU from your father and me, as we discussed. You need to keep it safe,” Claire said in a serious tone. “But even if you lose the IOU, we’ll still honor the agreement.”
“Oh, Athena murmured, remembering their discussion. She glanced at the paper and was about to slip it into her bag when she noticed something. “Mom, Dad, there’s a mistake. You wrote the amount as 1.2 million,” she said, her brows furrowing slightly.
