Chapter 32
The guests in the hall, as soon as they had left, began pointing at Scarlett, as if discussing how she had provoked the person.
Scarlett, not taking it to heart, turned her gaze to Susan and Cosmo as they approached.
“Scarlett, who are those people?”
Susan worriedly looked at Scarlett, her intuition telling her that those people were not of good character.
Scarlett smiled and patted her hand. “That’s the president of the Forrest Group. He came to me asking for a crucial contract document.
She raised her voice deliberately when she said this.
Susan had a small microphone attached to her wedding dress, so that her voice would be amplified as she stood close to it.
Upon hearing her explanation, the guests resumed their discussion, praising Susan’s friends and noting that even the president of the Forrest Group was familiar with them.
Cosmo grew up in the suburbs of A Town, where no one was familiar with the name of the town’s wealthiest resident.
Scarlett’s explanation was also intended to dispel everyone’s opinions.
Otherwise, Cosmo’s relatives would undoubtedly assume that the friend Susan had made was of dubious character.
It was enough to completely ruin someone’s reputation.
She had to explain it clearly so that Susan would not be subjected to criticism.
The doubts of the guests were dispelled, yet Susan remained uneasy. She sensed that things were not as straightforward as they seemed.
If Scarlett said that only a contract document was needed, then why did the president of the Forrest Group bring so many people?
He was obviously intent on disrupting the atmosphere, still clinging to Scarlett’s waist and stroking her all over.
His movements were wretched, not as if he was chasing Scarlett, but rather as if he was threatening her.
As Susan thought more and more about it, her worry grew. She quickly removed the microphone from the wedding dress. clasped Scarlett’s hand, and gazed at her with a concerned expression.
“Scarlett, if you’re in peril, you must let me know. I’ll risk my life if I have to, just to help you get justice!”
Scarlett had been good-looking since she was a child, and had been attracting too many men ever since.
No one dared to approach her, with Liam protecting her in the past.
With Liam absent, she was the only one left to safeguard Scarlett.
Upon hearing this, Scarlett’s heart was warmed and her eyes glistened with tears.
Fearing that Susan would be even more distressed upon seeing her tears, she quickly answered with a ‘yes’ and gently nudged her away to carry on with the wedding.
After exchanging rings and pouring champagne, the wedding concluded.
Scarlett’s heart, which had risen to her throat, was completely relieved as she watched Susan follow Cosmo, smiling and toasting table after table of guests.
The wedding ended smoothly, and the next step was to get rid of James!
She followed the car, sending Susan and the others to the wedding room, then taking a taxi back home.
When she entered the bedroom and opened the wardrobe to change into her bridesmaid dress, a bank card dropped out.
She gave Susan the dowry, not expecting that Susan would secretly return it to her wardrobe.
Scarlett picked up the bank card, a smile spreading across her face.
Susan was such that she only knew how to give, never expecting anything in return.
She didn’t take advantage of anyone, even Cosmo.
Cosmo’s family paid the first payment for the wedding room, while she was in charge of the decorations.
Even though her name was not on the wedding room loan, she still paid it off with Cosmo without any regrets.
She was a big sister who paid attention and always made
Scarlett tightly clutched the bank card, her thoughts, feel warmhearted.
