Chapter 108
Winston took a deep breath and recalled what the others said. “Millie always followed Winston around but vanished the moment he was kidnapped!”
He raised his hand, unable to resist the urge to bite his fingertips, his gaze growing more complex.
“You’re all grown up now, yet you still bite your finger, Millie exclaimed, her tone dripping with mockery.
Winston averted his gaze and frowned. He promptly withdrew his hand, feeling unease.
He wondered if it was Millie who had saved him, but he couldn’t understand why she never mentioned it in the past three years. He felt suspicious and decided to ask her directly about what had happened
back then.
Suddenly, the door to the private room swung open, and the chef presented the food. “Cobb salad, steak pie, and pumpkin soup. Mr. and Mrs. Greer, enjoy your meal.”
At first, Millie wasn’t hungry. However, when she saw the food on the table, her stomach started growling. She had skipped dinner after a tiring day of work and was thus starving at that moment.
“Millie,” Winston called out to her, eager to ask about what happened four years ago.
However, Millie took a sip of her soup, making a subtle gesture and signaling for Winston to stop. You’re treating me to dinner, aren’t you?”
He hummed in response.
“Since you’re treating me to dinner, then just be quiet and don’t speak.‘
“Why?”
“It’ll ruin my appetite.”
Winston was stunned and furious. The atmosphere suddenly became tense. What an ungrateful
woman!
She was certainly not the one who saved him. How could she be so kind? Despite claiming to love him for years, she quickly turned to flirting with Simon.
Then, over a simple meal, she told him to be quiet and claimed he was ruining her appetite. Would she truly love someone else? She would only care for herself. Therefore, Winston decided to stop asking.
Millie enjoyed the meal, savoring the exquisite flavors in the exclusive setting of a private kitchen. The chef seemed to have a close relationship with Winston, suggesting they had known each other for a long time.
This was Millie’s first visit to the restaurant, and she wondered how many times Winston had brought
Joanna there.
It seemed like Winston and Joanna had enjoyed many meals together and visited various places over the years. He didn’t even hesitate to pay a bill of over ten thousand to please Joanna.

Millie was also surprised by her own question when she blurted out. “How many assets do you have?”
“Why are you asking?”
“If we get divorced, shouldn’t I receive half of it?”
Winston was at a loss for words.
The atmosphere at the table was a little strange. Noticing his silence, Millie cleared her throat and said, “I didn’t mean to startle you. I was just asking.”
“Sure,” he answered decisively.
Millie almost choked on her food and exclaimed, “Are you giving me half?”
He was serious. “Uh–huh.”
“Then let’s stop eating. Let’s go to the courthouse and get in line now.”
Millie was about to stand up. They should stop eating and waste any more time. They should queue up all night and be the first to file for divorce the next morning.
After the divorce, she would rightfully claim half of Winston’s assets. She no longer needed to work after that. She would go out to have fun, and support a gigolo and a male athlete.
