Chapter 145
Since they were both adults, Simon couldn’t be bothered to beat around the bush. No one would go out of the way to be nice to another if it weren’t for ulterior motives.
He was forthright about his admiration for Millie, which surprised her.
“But I’m not yet divorced,” she said stiffly.
“I know.”
“Mr. Harrison, are you seriously going to be a homewrecker for love?” she couldn’t help but tease him.
The mood lightened. Raising a brow cheekily, he grunted. “Well, that’s a possibility.”
She chortled before looking out of the window. “I do not have plans to date for now.”
He immediately replied, “I’ll just take a number and wait until you’re ready.”
Her heart fluttered. Looking down, she smiled but said nothing.
After dinner, Simon sent her home.
Terrence and Julia, who were watching the TV, interrogated her when she got home. “Was it Simon who drove you home?”
“Yeah.” She lay on the couch tiredly.
Terrence grunted. He stated, “I saw Winston when I visited your grandpa at the hospital today.”
Millie rested her face on her palm. Bifrost Hospital wasn’t exactly a large place. As the inpatient department was a building on its own, it wasn’t surprising for Terrence to run into Winston there.
Sighing, Terrence suggested, “You should get the divorce over with.”
Lowering her head, she replied, “Got it.”
Switching to another topic, Terrance said, “The annual cruise party in Yerwick will happen in a month. Mills, why don’t you attend on our behalf?”
“I don’t want to.” She sprawled lazily on the couch.
The cruise party was a gathering of the rich attended by wealthy socialites. To Millie, it was a boring event where everyone splurged and indulged themselves in luxurious pleasures.
The party was known to get wild. If her attention lapsed, she might find herself drinking spiked drinks.
“Why are you always saying no to everything? What is it that you want, then? You’re going! It’s final,” Terrence shouted.
Dumbfounded, she wondered why Terrence was emotionally unstable lately. It didn’t take long for him to raise his voice in a conversation.

“Dad…” She hugged Terrence and cooed, but he heartlessly pushed her away.
He barked, “Stop wheedling your way out! That doesn’t work on me.”
Julia suggested to Millie, “You should go and get some new friends! That’ll expand your horizons!”
Pouting, Millie snorted, thinking, “Fine! I’ll go.”
However, she regretted her choice when she retired to her bedroom. Somehow, she felt that trouble would arise at the cruise party, just like every year.
Even so, she decided to take things as they came. She’d be fine attending the party as long as she wasn’t the one who got into trouble.
The next day, Rachel called Millie, inviting her to go shopping. Since it was the weekend, Millie agreed
to go out,
The luxury brand stores shined in the mall. Sipping her coffee, Millie glanced around and commented, ” The summer season designs this year are lackluster.
