Chapter 26 

Waners wore a casal gray outfit, and he seemed to be in a relaxed mood However, his expression quickly turned sour at the sight of Mille. When he saw Simons standing behind Millie and holding her hands, his face twisted oglily. 

Joanna was shocked to see Millie and Simon there. All she wanted 

was to be alone with Winston. 

Simon released Millie’s hands and stepped aside. 

“What a coincidence,” said Winston sarcastically. 

Millie gave him a disapproving look before replying, “Yeah, it’s quite a coincidence, Mr. Greer. 

Winston glared at her, annoyed by her use of the term “Mr. Greer.” 

Millie flashed Simon a sweet smile and suggested, “Simon, shall we carry on?” 

Winston narrowed his eyes. He hadn’t expected Millie to address Simon so intimately after their blind date yesterday. 

“Sure, let’s have another game,” Simon replied with a gentle smile. “You know I can’t beat you,” Millie protested. 

Simon gave her a playful grin. “That’s true. But you will owe me a favor if I do beat you. How about we go to the movies together tomorrow if you lose?” His grin widened as he tilted his head to the 

side. 

Millie kept her eyes on Simon. She wasn’t sure if he was serious or just playing along because of Winston’s presence. 

Either way, she was grateful for him. He always seemed to get her out of awkward situations when she encountered Winston. 

Joanna couldn’t resist joining their banter. “Mr. Harrison, I heard you were with your father at the Caldwell residence this morning?” 

Winston frowned. He was surprised to hear that. 

“Was it to thank Mills for saving your father’s life the other day?” Joanna asked. She stood on the third tee and swung her club before casually glancing at Millie. 

Simon smiled and responded gentlemanly, “Yes and no.” 

“What do you mean?” Joanna asked with a smile. 

“Don’t you remember I was on a blind date with Mills?” Simon raised an eyebrow at her before he swung his golf club. He drove the ball effortlessly into the hole. 

Winston’s expression clouded at the mention of “Mills.” He 

suspected that Simon and Millie had known each other for a long time. The idea that Simon might have played a role in Millie’s desire for a divorce unsettled him. 

“Wow, what a shot!” Millie exclaimed. 

Winston felt that Millie had overreacted. With a straight face, he picked up his club and deftly sent the ball into the hole with one swing. 

Millie wasn’t at all surprised at how well Winston did. He was a man of many talents and many interests. His passion for rock climbing and off–roading was the reason that Millie enjoyed them as well. 

Winston was particularly adventurous during his high school and college years. Millie cherished him and everything he loved. 

“So, you took your father to see Mills‘ parents for a marriage. proposal?” Joanna asked while tilting her head.” 

“Yeal…. sort of.” Simon nodded. 

Millie couldn’t resist studying Simon’s demeanor. He was a man who could tell a lie without batting an eyelid.
