Chapter 390
“Mr. Greer, are you giving up already? I haven’t even started to get serious,” Kennedy teased, leaning against the net with a smirk.
Winston didn’t respond. Instead, he picked up his water bottle and took a sip. At the same time, he glanced at Millie, who was drenched in sweat, her face flushing.
Millie couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right between Kennedy and Winston.
“Since the game is over, I’m done playing.” Millie then told Kennedy, “I’m going to take a shower and then head home. Mr. Sullivan, you should discuss business with my dad.”
Suddenly, Kennedy offered, “Let me give you a ride home.”
Millie was somewhat taken aback but quickly declined, “There’s no need for that. Thank you, Mr.
Sullivan.”
With that, Millie headed to the women’s locker room. Before long, she had finished showering and changed into a new outfit.
The top had a clever zip design. Pulling the zipper down would reveal her cleavage, while the lower part would expose a subtle design detail. So, Millie habitually pulled it down.
As she was about to leave, she spotted Winston standing by the door. He leaned against the frame with his hands in his pockets, looking like a laid–back university student.
When he noticed Millie coming out, he looked up. Their eyes met as she popped a candy into her mouth. “Are you waiting for me?”
“Yes,” he replied honestly, his gaze briefly lingering on her outfit.
Millie nodded. “What is it that you want to tell me?”
Winston glanced toward the court before turning back to her and answered, “Stay away from Kennedy.
“In what way?” Millie asked as she narrowed her eyes.
“In every way possible.‘

Whether it was business or personal matters, Winston wanted Millie to keep her distance from Kennedy.
“Do you know him well?” Millie asked. She was puzzled because she didn’t recall such a person being part of Winston’s life.
“Millie, that’s not important. Just heed my advice. Stay away from him. It’s for your own good,” Winston replied seriously.
Although Millie didn’t know the exact reason, she decided to be cautious. After all, Winston had made. the effort to speak to her.
“Got it.”

As Millie turned to leave, Winston suddenly called out to her, “Hey.”
She looked back with confusion. Winston pressed his lips together and pointed at her shirt, saying, ” Your zipper.”
Millie lowered her head. “What’s wrong?”
Winston frowned. Did she really not see how inappropriate it was?
“Can’t you just zip it up properly?” he uttered flatly.
But Millie ignored him. She simply walked away without looking back.
As Winston stared at her departing figure, his gaze reflected complicated feelings that he couldn’t quite put into words. It seemed like Millie had always been rebellious.
Her obedience during their marriage was nothing more than an act. No wonder Millie had become so resolute. Loving him had made her lose herself.
