AMARA.
"Okay, spill it out." Cassidy dropped her books on the cafeteria table as she swung her legs to get onto the bench and sat beside me.
"Spill out what?" I asked as I forked the spaghetti and twirled it around, shoving it all at once into my mouth as I shifted my gaze between her and Amber, who chose to sit in front of us.
I knew what they wanted to ask because I had been asked about it throughout the morning, but I just kept my mouth shut and refused to give any details.
However, I wasn’t sure if I could do the same thing with them.
"Just say it if it's true or not. You and Alpha Jace." Cassidy spoke in a hushed tone this time.
"Everyone’s talking about seeing you both kissing each other in the women’s dorm and the headmistress sending him home," Amber added.
I almost choked on my food, but Cassidy opened my bottled water before handing it to me.
I gulped the water loudly before putting it down.
The rumor was definitely exaggerated, and I was one hundred percent sure it came from the females that were standing by the stairs last night.
"I wasn’t kissing him. I just kissed him goodnight on his cheek. That was it." They didn’t need to know I kissed him a little too close to his lips.
"Why would you kiss Jace?" Amber asked, her eyes rounding.
"Don’t you kiss Zach goodnight?" I asked back.
Amber shook her head a little too much as a red tint crept across her cheeks. "No. He would just give me a side hug but not a kiss."
"She’s lying," Cassidy whispered. "They took so long to get out of the car each time Zach dropped her off, so I was sure there were kisses involved. Unless they’re just playing rock, scissors, and papers inside."
"If they want to keep a secret, who are we to judge?" I said it nonchalantly.
"So I’m the only one without a guy." Cassidy feigned disappointment.
"There are too many males around, Cassie. Pick your choice. I’m sure they will all fall to their knees and offer you the world." I told her.
"Haha! Nice try. Maybe I liked girls." She blurted out, and my eyes widened as my head slowly snapped in her direction.
"Don’t believe her. She just wants to avoid questions." Amber rolled her eyes at Cassidy.
"How sure are you?" Cassidy challenged her.
"As sure as I can be." I heard you moaning a guy’s name in the middle of the night, and I am one hundred percent sure you were doing something under your blanket."
Cassidy’s face flushed red as her mouth parted, and I couldn’t help but giggle as I leaned my elbow on the table, rested my face on my hand, and looked at her. "So who’s the lucky guy?"
"Well, if Cassidy pays me..." Amber laid out her hand in front of her. "I’ll keep my mouth shut."
"Wait... that’s not fair! We are talking about Amara and Jace."
"Well, that’s what you get for nosing around me and Zach."
"So we are keeping secrets now?" Catherine sat down beside Amber with a scowl on her face.
I didn’t even notice she arrived.
"I told you everything about what I feel for Tyler. And you guys are keeping your crushes on me and baiting me with all those lousy guys just to keep the real names out. Well, I know Amber and Zach, even if they keep saying they’re best friends. But you, Cassy, and especially you, Amara, why hide it from us or me?"
"First, mine is just a crush. I will soon get past that stage and forget about him, as I did with all my other crushes. So the real culprit here is Amara because we didn’t even realize they were heading that way."
I rolled my eyes at Cassidy for pointing everything toward me.
"So you and Jace? Is it for real?" Catherine asked before she feigned puking.
"What’s with that face?" I asked, chuckling softly.
"Of all people, why Jace?" He scrunched up her nose like she smelled something bad.
"Why not? Jace is handsome." Amber said.
"And sexy," Cassidy added.
"Ewww… stop. He farts and doesn’t shower every day... and sweaty." Catherine’s face looked disgusted.
"Just like Tyler. Tyler farts too, in case you’re not aware." Amber retorted.
