The only thing that he knew at that moment was that Yara was standing behind him.
However, he did not know what she did to him.
When he turned his head to look behind, he could see a paring knife was stabbed into his back.
He was lucky that the knife stabbed him in his back and was not on his front. Otherwise, he would have been disemboweled by the crazy woman.
Hamish was fuming with rage. Thus, he turned around and kicked Yara before pinning her to the ground and beating her up.
When he was tired, he stood up and gasped for air. He then scolded loudly, “Are you insane, crazy woman? Nancy, call the hospital. Inform the psychiatrist to bring her to the psychiatric hospital.”
Upon hearing his instruction, Nancy tried not to be too excited.
She knew very well that Winnie’s revenge was simple.
Winnie only wanted her enemies to feel what her mother had gone through previously.
Back then, Hamish and Yara had personally sent Lorelei to the psychiatric hospital. Karma returned to them, and it was finally Yara’s turn after more than a decade.
The most important thing was that Nancy’s task would be completed the moment Yara was sent to the psychiatric hospital. Therefore, she would be able to leave.
Nancy felt as if a heavy burden had been lifted off her. Picking up the phone, she immediately dialed the emergency number.
Hamish, in the meantime, could feel that the injury on his back was not very severe. Thus, he pulled the knife out and threw it into a corner.
In order to avoid Yara starting to behave crazily again, Hamish tied her up.
Afterward, he completed a few payment transactions using Yara’s face verification. Finally, he searched for a few title deeds around the house before walking out in a hurry.
Winnie felt a bit of regret in her heart while watching the scene from the surveillance cameras.
She regretted that she had allowed Yara to turn crazy so quickly.
Winnie felt that she should have given more time to Yara so that she would be able to experience how cruel Hamish would treat her while she still had a conscious mind.
However, now that Yara was insane, she would no longer be able to feel the pain of being treated badly. Winnie thought that it was a waste.
Winnie only started her car’s engine after an ambulance from the psychiatric hospital had taken Yara away.
More than an hour had passed when she received a call from Nancy.
“Ms. Garland, my mission is now complete. In that case, can I go now? About the balance of the payment…”
“I’ve transferred the money to you. You can leave now. Keep this a secret and leave Chanaea. Don’t let me see you again.”
The moment after Winnie had hung up the call, Jacinta called her.
“Winnie, where are you now? Why is Hamish here, but you aren’t home yet?” Jacinta asked worriedly.
“I’m stalled for a bit because I’m waiting for the ambulance from the psychiatric hospital to pick Yara up. Has Hamish arrived home?”
“Yes, that’s right. When he came back, his back was drenched in blood. It was scary. He started to ransack the room the moment he came back. I have no idea what he’s looking for.”
“I guess his injury is not serious. After all, he can still behave energetically.” Winnie smiled coldly before she continued, “Granny, don’t mind him. I will get back soon.”
“That’s what I wanted to talk to you about. He’s looking for you. If he is looking for you during this time, he must have bad intentions. Why don’t you stay clear of him?”
Jacinta was worried for her granddaughter.
Nevertheless, Winnie was not bothered by it.
“I must go back. Granny, you’re still there. How can I leave you there alone? I will arrive in a short while.”
Ten minutes later, Winnie arrived at the Garland residence.
She parked her car at the side of the street outside and walked to the house.
As soon as she entered the house, Hamish strode toward her and grabbed her wrist.
“Let’s go, Winnie. Follow me to the office.”
Winnie realized that he had changed into a pair of clean clothes.
