Sir madame has run away again (Lily and Carson) novel Chapter 214

Chapter 214
I looked up to see Aunt Judy, my father’s sister, looking at me with wide eyes and disbelief. “Is that you, Lily? When will you
come?”
Aunt Judy’s voice was naturally high, so it was literally rising now as she spoke in amazement. My mom quickly stopped her. “Judy, please keep your voice down. Lily’s father doesn’t know that Lily is here!”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so tall.” Stunned, Aunt Judy glanced at the closed ward door and immediately lowered her voice. “My brother hadn’t heard me, right?”
Before my mom could speak, the door to the infirmary was opened from the inside and Dylan was out. “Lily, Mr. Hawkins asked you to join!”
Aunt Judy’s loud voice really got to my dad. Well, sooner or later I would have to face it; I couldn’t hide for a lifetime. However, now that my dad’s health wasn’t great, I was still a little worried that he would get agitated when he saw me, which might affect his health.
Naturally, my mom thought the same thing, so she lowered her voice and told me, “Lily, be careful talking to your dad. No matter what he says, don’t answer, okay? Just listen quietly, okay?”
“I know, Mom, don’t worry. I wont say anything.”
“I will accompany you.” My mom was still worried, so she followed me to the infirmary. Seeing us enter the ward, Dylan carefully closed the door on us.
In the infirmary, my father was propped up in bed, looking sick and weak. When he saw me coming in, his expression turned cold. I yelled, “Daddy!”
He didn’t say a word, he just looked at me. Then my mom stepped forward and said, “Hank, Lily ran over here when she heard you were hospitalized. Don’t get mad and talk to Lily calmly, okay?”
“I wouldn’t dare be angry with her! When other people create children, they are creating relatives, creating a family, but I have created an enemy. After so many years of giving her my all, apparently I’m worth even less than a stranger to her. She cut our ties like that! It’s really painful when I think about it.
My mom looked at me and coaxed my dad in a soft voice, “Hank, Lily was ignorant before, but now she knows she was wrong. See, she came to see you. So don’t criticize her anymore.”
My mom thought I was still just as moody as before, so she worried that my dad’s words might piss me off. What she didn’t know was that I was feeling really complicated when I heard what my dad said.
While there was no point in crying over spilled milk, if I knew my persistence in marrying Carson would turn out to be a joke, why would I disobey my parents like that?
Thinking of all the things in the past, my heart convulsed in pain. My father was right. It was my stubbornness that made all of this happen. Looking at his white hair and haggard face, I couldn’t contain my emotions any longer. Immediately, I dropped to my knees beside her hospital bed with a thud. “Father, I was wrong. I know I was very wrong. Please forgive me! I will listen to every word you say in the future.”
Seeing me kneeling in front of the hospital bed crying, my mother and father were dumbfounded. Obviously, they never dreamed that I would admit my mistakes like this. My mother was the first to react when she reached out to help me. “Lily, what are you doing? Stand up! Your dad was just a little upset. He didn’t say he won’t forgive you.”
My
father’s eyes also filled with tears. “You unfaithful brat. Are you here to visit me or to piss me off? Will you get down on your knees if I don’t forgive you? Who did you learn this from?”
