Chapter 241
No one paid attention to that woman’s desperate screams when Dylan’s bodyguard entered and covered her mouth before dragging her out. When that was done, Dylan looked at me and Isabella. “You two are a joke! How could you two lose
her?”
I was silent because I was shocked. Earlier, Dylan was so fierce and merciless, it made me wonder what his bodyguard would do to that woman. Could she be killed?
Isabella blew on her bleeding hands and suggested. “Lily, let’s get someone to tend to our wounds!”
Nodding, I followed her out of the infirmary. The moment I realized that Dylan wasn’t coming with us, I took the opportunity to whisper in her ear: “Isabella, that woman is not going to be killed, is she?”
“Dead? This is impossible! Lily, how does your mind work? There is still the law that we must obey.” Isabella cracked a smile.
“Oh okay then.” I sighed in relief.
“She will not die, but she will suffer a fate worse than death.” She smiled beautifully at me.
“What?”
“Once she’s in Dylan’s hands, he has a thousand ways to take care of her. Today is such a fulfilling day!”
Shocked by her words, I commented: “Isabella, Dylan feels like an outsider today. I realized that he is not the same man anymore.
I knew.”
“People change. He has to lead a large company and develop its business. I would be surprised if he stayed the same!” Isabella sighed. “Everything is fine as long as he treats you the same!”
The doctor helped dress up our wounds, and soon we were back in Jeremy’s ward. When we appeared, Dylan looked at my hand. “Still hurts?”
“No more!”
Jeremy smiled at me too. “Lily, I’m sorry about the incident now!”
“You don’t have to apologize to me; you should be feeling sorry for Isabella. You need to apologize to her!” I hit him. He cast a furtive glance at Isabella as if she wanted to say something, but Isabelle turned her face away from him, causing him to look away in embarrassment as well.
In the midst of the awkward silence, I looked at Dylan and changed the subject. “You didn’t answer my call just now.”
“You called me?” Dylan fumbled in his pocket. “I don’t have my phone with me. I must have left it at the office. Anyway, Lily, why did you call me?”
“Well, there’s a movie premiere this Sunday and someone asked me to invite him to the event. Do you have time for that?” .” Dylan was smiling widely. “But I’m curious about the name of your friend who asked you for the favor.”
“She is Camille Sanders.”
“Camille Sanders? Lily, since when are you close with her?” Isabella intervened in surprise.
“It’s just a coincidence. Our company is partnered with Eric Walker’s company, and I’ve met him a few times at the Walker Group,” I explained.
“She had the nerve to ask you for such a huge favor after only a few dates? What effrontery.” Isabella has always expressed herself freely.
“What is the problem?” I gave her a confused look.
