Chapter 1032 A Hidden Chamber 

Alex was taken aback by the remarkable effectiveness of the Blood Demon Pill in replenishing his energy and enhancing his abilities. However, the side effects had nearly stripped him of his self-control, leaving him utterly thunderstruck. 

Had it not been for his strong willpower, Alex would have succumbed to the influence of the Blood Demon Pill and killed Elsa, or worse, claimed the lives of more innocent people. If that had occurred, he would have transformed into a monstrous being.

As Alex looked at the heap of mangled flesh not far away, a wave of conflicting emotions washed over him. He could not believe he had torn another human being apart, reducing them to mere pieces.

“Captain Sawyer, it’s me, Alex!” Alex immediately explained. 

When he heard his familiar voice and saw the look in his dark eyes, Elsa’s initial fear gradually subsided. She began to recognize the man holding her as Alex. 

Tightly embracing Alex, Elsa could not hold back her tears of joy. “I’m so relieved that you’re safe! I’m truly sorry for dragging you into this dangerous situation. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have experienced all this and almost lost your life…” 

Elsa’s gaze dropped. Her heart was heavy with guilt. 

At that moment, her phone rang. 

“Elsa, where are you? I order you to return to the police station immediately!” An authoritative voice filled with a tinge of anger came from the other end of the phone. 

Elsa’s face grew tense when she heard that. She quickly acknowledged the command and ended the call. 

The call had come from the chief of the police station. Elsa concluded that Martin must have returned and informed the higher authorities about the events that had transpired earlier. 

Despite Elsa not putting the call on speaker, Alex’s heightened senses allowed him to overhear the conversation. 

“If you have something urgent to attend to, you should head back first. I still have some matters to take care of,” Alex said. 

Elsa acknowledged his words and left in the police car. 

Alex decided to stay behind to explore the estate. After all, Glenn and his son had been members of the secret world, so they might have carried some valuable items with them.

He also had to destroy the recipe for the Blood Demon Pill with his own hands. If such an object that defied human nature fell into the hands of the wicked, the lives of even more innocent individuals would be at stake.
