Chapter 1249 Door Of The Living
Alex had never heard of such a situation in his life. The only thing he knew was that Megan had not lied to him. It seems this place is really eerie! Perhaps the people from Elysian Guild come up with this method because they fear my strength and don't have the nerve to confront me directly. They want to trap me here forever, just like Megan.
“Stop crying. It won't help. I will take you out of here,” Alex comforted.
Megan seemed to have tired herself out from crying. Alex's words brought her great comfort. Hence, she obediently said, “You said you'd take me out, Alex. Please don't lie to me!”
Alex patted Megan's head, chuckling lightly as he said, “Don't worry! I won't deceive you. I just need to figure out how to get out of this place first.”
At that moment, the voice of Jade echoed in Alex's mind. “Master, we can't stay here for long. Once it's past midnight, there won't be a way out for you. If you miss this opportunity to leave, you'll have to wait until a week later.”
Alex never imagined that there was a time limit to the place. Additionally, it was somehow linked to the inauspicious day marked in the almanac and that one could only leave on the next inauspicious day.
Alex wasn't a genuine exorcist. He merely possessed some knowledge of the light and dark skills recorded in the Nine Heaven Scrolls.
Earlier, at nine, Megan appeared. Alex was busy figuring out how to deal with her, and the chaos that ensued wasted around an hour of his time. As such, there were only two hours left for them to escape.
A regular person might starve to death if they didn't eat or drink for a week. However, for a Grandmaster like Alex, he could survive pretty well without eating or drinking for a week.
Although, when Alex thought about how Stanley's whereabouts were still unknown, he became more hellbent on escaping. He didn't want to be trapped for a week.
Alex was swift, much faster than Megan. He planned to keep moving forward to see if the vast emptiness truly stretched ahead infinitely.
Alex had probably been running for about ten minutes. Given his pace, if he were on the road, he'd have covered nearly three kilometers by then.
