Victoria was much calmer than the rest. She simply chuckled, “Alex, my dear, this bracelet must cost a fortune. How can I accept a gift that expensive?” 

Alex grinned and replied, “Grandma, this isn’t as expensive as you think. My friend owns a jewelry shop, and he gave me a huge discount. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Jessica about it.” 

“Jessica, is that true? Is this an affordable gift?” asked Victoria. 

Jessica looked a little awkward as she hesitated. She wasn’t sure if she should tell them the truth.
