Chapter 881 Stannis Plans To Befriend Alex 

Daphne knew all too well what it would be like to work in a nightclub, so she refused to accept her fate so 

casily 

She just called Maggie a prostitute a while ago, only to end up becoming one herself 

Daphne kept begging Alex for mercy, but he refused to even look at her. Realizing that her fate had been sealed, Daphne had despair written all over her face as four men dragged her out of the room. 

Right as Daphne thought her life was over, she saw Stannis, who had been standing outside the door the whole time. 

Although Stannis had walked out of the room after Daphne broke up with him, he never left the building and had been secretly observing everything from outside the door. 

Sure enough, the events that followed were all well within his expectations. He was right about Alex having an extraordinary background when he saw that Jarell, whom he always treated with the utmost respect, was terrified by Alex. 

Having grown up in a small town, Stannis knew that he would be able to achieve success if he could get on Alex’s good side. 

For all he knew, that could potentially make him a famous and respectable individual in Lumenopolis. 

The mere thought of that made him so excited that his breath was shaky, and his body was trembling all 

over. 

He got so carried away that he didn’t even notice those men entering the room. It wasn’t until they dragged Daphne out that he came back to his senses. He tried to turn around and leave, but Daphne had already spotted him. 

“Stannis! Help me, Stannis! You’re close to Alex, aren’t you? He’ll definitely forgive me if you ask him nicely!” Daphne shouted at him while struggling with all her might, but the four burly men had her in vice-like grip. 

To Daphne’s horror, Stannis simply stood there and stared at her with an icy-cold look in his eyes. Gone was the love and respect that he had for her. 

This woman had it coming! She brought this upon herself! Had she not broken up with me, I probably would’ve gotten dragged into this mess as well! It was never my intention to date her, to begin with. I only dated her in university because I needed her family to help me out with my business. After putting up with her for so many years, I’m finally free of that life… Alex could just her killed for all I care! I’m not about to give a sh*t, let alone beg Aler to spare hert 

Stannis then decided to head back to his room and get some rest while he thought about how he would establish a good relationship with Alex. On the way to his room, he overheard a conversation between two people who were passing him by. 

“Hey, did you know that a young man crippled Master Antoine after he knocked him off the stage? Master Antoine might be bedridden for the rest of his life! Master Fonzo headed out last night to help Master Antoine, but he never came back after that. The temple behind the mountain has collapsed too. They say it’s because it hasn’t been maintained for too long, but no one knows what really happened. Oh, by the way, someone discovered a huge puddle of blood in an open area nearby!” 

A middle-aged security guard was telling a younger one about the rumors he had heard that day.
