Chapter 978 Run 

After sorting out the company’s affairs, Alex planned to return home. He had been busy all day and hadn’t had time to properly accompany Stanley, breaking his promise to take the latter to the amusement park. 

He wondered if Stanley got along well with Kate and figured Kate, a mother herself, should be quite tolerant toward Stanley. 

Glancing at his watch and noticing it was already around eleven o’clock at night, Alex guessed Stanley must be asleep by now. It seems like I can only find time to accompany Stanley tomorrow. 

Alex entered his car and drove home. On his way back, he suddenly noticed a few cars that seemed to be tailing him. Could these people be working for Aiden? 

Given how he had treated Aiden during the day, Alex expected Aiden to target him with underhanded tactics. 

Alex planned to find a place to stop the car to see what Aiden was up to, but as soon as he started to slow down, the cars behind him accelerated and rushed toward him. 

Bang! 

The car behind rammed straight into the back of Alex’s car. The powerful impact caused his head to buzz. If it weren’t for his habit of wearing a seatbelt, the recoil force would’ve killed him on the spot. 

That wasn’t the end, as the remaining vehicles behind also sped up, aiming to hit Alex’s car from multiple directions. 

A collision with one car was already bad enough, and if all those vehicles were to slam into his, Alex figured he wouldn’t survive. 

Run! 

The only option left for him at that instant was to escape. Bracing himself against throbbing pain in his head, Alex pushed open the car door and got out as quickly as possible without having the time to consider anything else. 

Boom! 

A thunderous noise sounded. Alex’s car was hit so hard that it became deformed. Thick clouds of smoke billowed from the wreckage. 

Those men were astonished when they noticed Alex had gotten out of the car. Still, after hesitating for a few moments, they immediately drove in Alex’s direction. 

“Do they really plan to sacrifice their lives?” Even under such circumstances, Alex couldn’t help but be taken aback by the lunacy and desperation of the people trying to kill him. Who did Aiden hire to do his bidding? They are resorting to this mean to do away with me. This is utter madness. 

Although Alex’s speed was much faster than ordinary people, he was still significantly slower than the cars. Having no other choice, he could only run toward the nearby shopping mall. 

He didn’t believe those people would dare to drive their cars into the mall. When they got out of their vehicles, Alex reckoned he didn’t have to worry about eliminating those ordinary people with his Master Realm’s capabilities. 

A deafening explosion sounded from behind him. Without needing to look back, Alex could imagine his car exploding due to a fuel leak after it was extensively damaged following the crash.
