Alex kicked the door to the chairman’s office open, only to discover that the room was empty with no sign of Aiden. 

He clenched his fists tightly as he was on the verge of losing his mind out of rage. Overwhelmed by the anxiety over Jessica’s safety, he could no longer think straight. 

Because of that, he nearly killed the security team leader at the entrance and had to stop himself at the last second. 

“Who are you? How did you break into the chairman’s office? Leave now! Otherwise, I’ll get the security guards to throw you out.” 

Suddenly, a shrill female voice rang out behind Alex. 

He turned around to see a woman dressed scantily and wearing heavy makeup glaring at him. 

Alex did not spare that woman a second glance and approached her directly, asking in a frigid tone, “Where did Aiden go? Tell me!” 

“Why should I tell you?” was what the woman thought of answering him. However, when she saw his bloodshot eyes and sensed the murderous aura he was emitting, she swallowed her words in fright. 

“I… I… don’t know either… Mr. Ward hasn’t shown up at the office today. I’m just a secretary. Please don’t kill me…” the woman stuttered out of fear, pleading tearfully. 

Seeing how frightened she was, Alex could discern that she was most likely telling the truth. 

At this point, it’s clear that Aiden was the one who abducted Jessica. Alex was only suspecting Aiden’s 

involvement before this, but now, he was almost sure of it. 

Instead of letting the secretary go, Alex dragged the woman, who had dropped to the floor in fright, up to her feet and demanded, “Give me your phone!” 

The secretary did not dare to question Alex and handed him her phone immediately. Only after that did she give him a pleading look and begged, “I’ll do whatever you want. Please spare my life…” 

Ignoring the secretary, Alex took her phone and browsed her contacts list. He took some time looking for Aiden’s name but to no avail. 

In the end, after a moment of hesitation, he tapped on one of the contacts with the caller ID “Wretched Man” and made the call. The call was connected after a few beeps. 

“Hey, baby! Why are you calling me all of a sudden? Is it because you miss me?” Aiden’s seductive voice traveled from the other end of the phone. 

Keeping silent, Alex held the phone close to the secretary’s mouth and gave her a look.

Aiden’s tone was laced with irritation on the other end of the line. “Is it work that I have to take care of or you? I’m not free today, little minx. You can handle the company affairs. If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”
