Chapter 988 Dispatching The Underworld Forces 

“If you dare to touch her, I’ll give you a fate worse than death and make you regret being born!” Alex suppressed his rage and articulated each word slowly. 

The thought of Jessica being tortured by Aiden made him lose control of himself, and he threw a hard punch at the wall. With a loud bang, a hole instantly appeared on the wall made of cement bricks. 

The secretary, who went limp on the ground beside him, screamed when she saw that. She held her head and curled up in the corner, afraid that the murderous man in front of her would vent his anger on her. 

Who in the world can punch a hole through a wall with their bare hands? My goodness! Is he even human? 

On the other end of the line, Aiden could hear the anger in Alex’s tone. Not only did he show no fear, but he even chuckled triumphantly. 

“Oh, Alex! Your reaction shows that you care a lot about your secretary! I regret my previous condition. If you transfer one billion to Regenerateur Enterprises, I’ll let her go. If not, I’m sure you know what will happen to your adorable little secretary, don’t you?” 

Alex clenched his fists, his bones cracking as he did that. He would’ve smashed Aiden’s head open with a punch if Aiden was right in front of him at that moment. 

After taking a deep breath, he asked solemnly, “I can give you the money. Now tell me, where are you?” 

Aiden doubled over with laughter when he heard that. Only after laughing for a while did he reply, “Alex, even though I can’t see you, I can almost imagine how anxious and frightened you are! Ah, this feels fantastic! You’re asking me to tell you where I am? Are you taking me for a fool? Weren’t you still messing with me yesterday? Come look for me yourself! If you fail, your little secretary will be in danger!” 

“Aiden, don’t you dare harm her. Do you still want that one billion?” Alex enunciated every word through gritted teeth. 

He wished he could turn back time and go back to the previous day and get rid of Aiden instead of letting him go so easily. 

“Of course. If you don’t transfer the money over within ten minutes, your little darling is going to suffer. She’s a stubborn one. She’d rather die than divulge the secrets of Four Seas Corporation when she doesn’t even know if you, her boss, will save her or not.” 

With that, Aiden hung up without waiting for Alex’s response. Alex stared at the phone and made several more calls, only to discover that Aiden’s phone had been switched off. 

Alex tightened his grip on the phone, squeezing it so hard that it distorted out of shape. After that, he threw it on the ground. 

He stared at the portrait of Aiden in the office with narrowed eyes, his gaze blazing with murderous intent. How dare this insolent young man mess with me. Aiden, you’d better hide somewhere and never come out. If I find you. I’ll make your life a living hell 

Instead of lingering in the office and wasting more time, he spun on his heel and left. As for the one billion that Aiden demanded, Alex still chose to transfer it to him 

Perhaps some people might think it wasn’t worth it to spend so much money on a mere secretary. After all, there were plenty of pretty women in the world, and Jessica was nothing special.
