Speed Candles novel Chapter 38

“Mr. Clark, cool down.”

Koby had no choice but to persuade Sebastian, “Mr. Miller just now was too…”

Oskar had problems with his heart since childhood. Once he got jar or had a fight with others, he would have a heart attack. If something untoward should happen to Oskar in the C City, Koby couldn’t bear the responsibility.

“Koby, you want me to fire you, right?” Oskar covered his chest, gritted his teeth and cursed, “If you want to go over to him, just fuck off.”

Oskar was so angry that he even couldn’t breathe smoothly. He coughed a few times, “Sebastian, you really have a good brother. When I was abroad, your brother got Fiona to me…He also told me, as long as she fell in love with me, the L District would belong to me. You can imagine how much that allured me.”

It was already the morning. Both of them hadn’t slept all night. Emily just had a nap.

Sitting in the car, Sebastian was in a trance. He kept thinking about what Oskar had said to him. He thought Oskar had only himself to blame, but in fact Javion was actually the one who instigated him.

“Mr. Clark, I have investigated it. At that time, Miss Clark went to a party and was drugged in her drink by someone. Then she ran into Oskar, but he did not do anything to her, only to help her call a doctor.”

“Find out who drugged her, and if it’s inconvenient, you can take a trip abroad.”

When Emily woke up, she heard Sebastian was making a phone call. He was expressionless, with dark circles under his eyes and messy hair.

“Why don’t you just go and ask your sister or…”

“Emily, do you think I’m as stupid as you are?”

If he really went to ask, before he got the answer, he would have been schemed. He knew very well how smart Javion was.

“You are right. I’m just stupid.”

She had gone through it all. She knew his feelings at that moment, because she was also betrayed and schemed by those closest to her. Everything was like two years ago.

Sebastian lit a cigarette, deliberately mocked her, “If you had been smarter, even a little bit, you would not have been like this.”

His handsome face was all covered in the thick white smoke. Emily wanted to see his expression clearly, but couldn’t.

She did not feel shy away from this man. She just made up leisurely in the car. The light refracted from the mirror was too harsh for Sebastian. He put out his hand and covered his injured face.

Emily took out the band-aid in her bag and handed it to him. Sebastian gave her a glance, but did not take it. He drove the car out, “Don’t you see I am driving?”

Was he asking for her help?

She had to tentatively open the band-aid and stick it on his dark side face. He turned to look at himself in the rearview mirror and frowned.

“Mr. Clark, why do you put a cold shoulder on me? Why didn’t you think about it when you were fighting?” After Emily said these to him, she continued her make-up.

Sebastian turned to look at her. She was applying the make-up on her white and delicate face carefully, as if carving a work of art.

She picked a lipstick colored like ox blood, with a little black in the red.

“This color doesn’t suit you.”

Emily stared at him in surprise and was also puzzled, “So, you not only like to peek at other people’s mobile phones, but also like to peek at women’s make-up?”

Sebastian ignored her. He just thought to himself that this woman was charming if she didn’t make a fuss.
