Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 36

Nell scanned the table in silence. Sure enough, most of them were her favorite dishes.

The books in the study, the clothes in the cloakroom, and now a table full of her favorite dishes. She felt they were too obvious to be a coincidence.

However, the man did not say anything, so she pretended not to notice and remained silent.

The two observed the rule of not speaking while eating and had their meal in silence.

Afterward, she went for a walk in the front garden to digest and swiped on her phone to learn about the latest entertainment news.

A cold, crisp scent of pinewood suddenly hit her.

She jumped and turned around to see Gideon standing behind her.

“Don’t look at your phone while walking.”

He reached out and snatched her phone away as he spoke.

Nell was not paying attention and accidentally stepped on a stone underfoot, causing her to stumble to the side.

“Ahhh—!”

A short scream.

The expected pain never came. The man scooped her up by the waist and easily brought her into his arms.

“An old man's sayings are seldom untrue!”

He lectured her with a straight face.

Nell was so embarrassed that her face flushed red, but she could not utter a rebuttal.

She could only glare at him and said angrily, “Uncle, since you know you’re an old man, don’t take advantage of young girls. Let go!”

She struggled.

The arm on her waist did not loosen but grew tighter instead.

Gideon smiled and murmured, “I only said one line and you’re already angry? I’m hugging my wife. How is that taking advantage?”

Nell stared at him.

The man ended up defeated. He let her go and surrendered.

“Fine, fine. I was wrong. I shouldn’t have used the opportunity to take advantage of you. Since you’re so offended, why don’t I let you take revenge?”

Saying that, he leaned over and motioned for her to hug his waist.

Nell was furious.

This shameless man!

She turned to leave in a huff. Gideon realized that she was really angry and hurriedly pulled her back.

He coaxed softly, “Alright, I was just messing with you! Are you really mad at me?”

Nell ignored him.

Gideon said seriously, “I have something important to tell you. Will you listen?”

Nell glanced at him.

Sensing that he was not joking, she decided to stop. “What is it?”

“Didn’t you say you wanted to meet Simon Wilburn earlier? He has already arrived in the country, so I’ll arrange for you to meet tomorrow at noon!”

Nell thought about it. It seemed like she was free tomorrow at noon.

She looked at Gideon, frowning, and said seriously, “Gideon Leith, let me make this clear to you. Although I’m very grateful for what you’ve done for me, I still have principles.

“If Simon Wilburn was indeed wrongly accused, I can help him clear his name, save his reputation, and even help him move up the ladder. However, if the accusations are true, then I’m sorry.

“Even if he’s your cousin, I won’t help him!”

Gideon chuckled. “What principles? Protecting the weak?”

Nell rolled her eyes at him.

“Do you think I’m the Virgin Mary?”

She paused and said in a low voice, “I just believe that if I help a dishonorable person who’s unwilling to correct himself, he will just end up repeating the same mistake. I can’t keep following him and wiping his *ss for him. He’ll end up causing other kinds of trouble sooner or later.

“In that case, why waste any more energy on him? It’s not difficult to walk in the entertainment industry, but it’s difficult to walk for a long time and still maintain a good image. That requires not only the ability of a public relations team but also his cooperation.”
