“Sir, you haven’t eaten anything for almost ten hours. Why don’t you eat something?”
It was the fourth time Silas had taken food upstairs for the day.
The study was a mess.
Conrad was sitting on the floor with his back against the wall, his voice raspy. “You’ve got news?”
Silas said, “I’ve already sent more people to find her. We’ll find the madam.”
“Is she… hiding?” Conrad covered his head with his hands. “She must have seen the post!”
“…When we find her, you need to explain to her. She’ll trust you,” Silas said, upset.
Conrad shook his head. “She must have seen it. She won’t believe me again. That’s why she’s hid herself away.”
Silas didn’t know how to console him anymore.
His boss’s emotional state had completely collapsed. It was best if she had simply hid herself away. If she was captured by the person that was controlling everything… They would be in a lot of trouble.
Conrad struggled to get up and walked over to Silas, his breath filled with the smell of alcohol.
“What about Esme?!” he asked with red eyes. “Did she confess anything?”
Silas shook her head. “She said that what happened to the madam had nothing to do with her. She didn’t know anything.”
“Impossible!” Conrad grabbed Silas by the collar. “She did it! That vicious woman… She was the one that contacted Britney to get me out! It was her! She was behind all of it!”
Silas lowered his head and said nothing. His boss could still maintain some semblance of calmness when outsiders were present, but privately, he was on the verge of collapsing.
“I’ll personally ask her!” Conrad pulled out the desk’s drawer and took out a gun before running out.
There was a basement under the mansion. Few would venture down there.
The basement was quite wide, but only one lamp was turned on.
Esme’s hands were tied up as she hung from the ceiling and her feet only managed to touch the ground if she put in some effort.
When Tiger found Conrad at the River Fane bridge early in the morning, she had been brought to the basement hanging like that.

The readers' comments on the novel: Stop It, She’s Remarrying (Fia and Conrad)
I had known that the ending would be like this , I would never had read this book. It didn’t have a right ending at all. Made no sense. Don’t waste your time....
Evil should never win and Lucifer has harmed far to many....
This should not end this way. Fia, rather than following Lucifer’s evil path should reflect and realize that she has always loved Conrad and he has always loved her. Their problems were due to the interference of others, Beryl, Esme etc . Since she is the only one that can approach Lucifer, she and Peter should cooperate with each other, kill Lucifer and evil Beryl, Peter can remove the toxins/ poison from everyone and each will be able to live normal lives without interfering with others relationship's. The children deserve their real father who will love them dearly and provide and protect them with the life they deserve. Gia has been a fool since the beginning and has believed everyone but her beloved husband. Please end this on a good note, that is why we all read these stories, everyone loves a happy ending....
