The girls were doing this for her. So, she did not want to see them getting hurt.
“It’s okay, dear. I’ll go first. You can follow after I make sure it’s safe.” Mary patted Fia’s shoulder, comforting her. “Sophia and I will grab you later when you descend. It’ll be fine.”
Sophia skilfully helped Mary to the ground before untying the rope around her waist. “Gee, this is even scarier than when I was training the kids in the camp.”
After all, these girls were proper ladies from high society. She would get in so much trouble if they got hurt!
Fia took a huge breath before saying, “Okay. My turn.”
Eileen patted her back and comforted her. “Don’t worry. I’ll be right behind you.”
She kept looking at the rope next to the window, not daring to let her eyes off of it. If the rope broke, she would do everything to pull it up so that her best friend would not get hurt.
This was why she decided to go last, so she could protect Fia.
Fia, on the other hand, was too nervous to notice her friend’s thoughts.
Thus, Fia landed on the ground safely with everyone’s help. Well, her eyes were shut all the way when she descended with the rope.
“Madam, you’re on the ground now. It’s okay!” Sophia held Fia’s trembling hand and comforted her with a smile.
Opening one of her eyes, Fia finally realized she was on the ground. Her legs were so weak from the fright that she almost fell down.
Grabbing her other hand, Mary said, “I was really scared too just now. This is my first time ever climbing out a window like this.”
“If Conrad catches wind of this, he’ll break my legs.”
Yeah, this was no joke! She was still carrying their twins. How could she fool around like this?
Finally, it was Eileen’s turn. She had experience from filming in action movies before. The movie studio had strung her up with wires to film dangerous scenes too. So, she was not afraid at all.
However, halfway down she felt the rope loosening. In an instant, her face was as pale as a sheet.
“What…What’s wrong?” Fia asked in a frightened tone.
Taking in a breath, Eileen said with a smile, “It’s nothing. I think the rope is coming loose. That’s all.”

I had known that the ending would be like this , I would never had read this book. It didn’t have a right ending at all. Made no sense. Don’t waste your time....
Evil should never win and Lucifer has harmed far to many....
This should not end this way. Fia, rather than following Lucifer’s evil path should reflect and realize that she has always loved Conrad and he has always loved her. Their problems were due to the interference of others, Beryl, Esme etc . Since she is the only one that can approach Lucifer, she and Peter should cooperate with each other, kill Lucifer and evil Beryl, Peter can remove the toxins/ poison from everyone and each will be able to live normal lives without interfering with others relationship's. The children deserve their real father who will love them dearly and provide and protect them with the life they deserve. Gia has been a fool since the beginning and has believed everyone but her beloved husband. Please end this on a good note, that is why we all read these stories, everyone loves a happy ending....
