Chapter 581 The Thumb Drive Is Empty.
Sheriff Holland and Recorder Newman both were stunned when hearing Paula. Lucia added after a moment of hesitation, "Well, we suspected this was not an ordinary car accident when Paula was in a coma, and we also did some investigation. But we didn't get any clues as if they had been deliberately hidden by someone." Burton nodded in agreement. "As for that car, we've checked all the surveillance cameras along the way."
Hearing their words, Sheriff Holland knitted his eyebrows and felt that the situation was more complicated than he had imagined.
Casting a look at Paula, he said in a serious tone, "Since you came to us at this moment, you must have got some evidence. Right?" Paula nodded seriously, "Yes." She took out a thumb drive from her purse and put it on the desk as she answered. "There's a video on this thumb drive that shows how the perpetrator hit the car on purpose. We got the video clip from an automobile data recorder of a car parked nearby. Please take a look at it. We'd like to know whether it can be used as evidence."
Lowering his head, Sheriff Holland took a glance at the THUMB DRIVE, and his expression immediately became much more serious,
"Well, we'll let you know after checking the video." Paula said sure as she nodded. All of them went to another room with the thumb drive and used a computer to read the disk. They would check the video together. Among all of them, only Lucia had watched the video once before and she still could remember how cruel and vicious the scene was.
Taking a deep breath while waiting, Lucia looked at Paula with a worried face, saying, "Have you watched the video on the thumb drive?"
"Not yet." Paula shook her head. "I didn't have a laptop with me when I got this thumb drive, so I thought I'd better check it in the police office." Lucia nodded and then held Paula's hand gently, "You need to get mentally prepared." Even a man would get scared when seeing the scene of being hit by someone, not to mention a girl like Paula.
Paula said to Lucia softly with a nod, "I will, and don't worry about me." Just as Paula finished her words, Sheriff Holland said wonderingly. "How come there's no video clip on the thumb drive?" All of a sudden, they all turned to look at the screen of the computer coincidentally. Sheriff Holland opened the thumb drive again, finding there was nothing but a folder on the thumb drive. Paula was so
surprised that she shouted, "No way." Bending over to look at the screen clearly, she opened the thumb drive with the mouse to check it in person, ending up to find the same. The thumb drive was empty. Knitting her eyebrows, Lucia said, "Has the drive been installed correctly? Is that why we can't read the data?"
Paula pulled out the drive in a rush and installed it again. And then she opened the drive after hearing the prompt tone. However, the same result greatly shocked Paula. "How could it be?" August gave her the thumb drive in person, so how come there would be nothing on it?
