Chapter 630 Asking for His Help
Before Lucia could say anything, Janet handed her the pastry "Mom, look, this is from August "
Lucia looked down, surprised to see the hotel's logo on the box. This was a gift from the five-star hotel to a VIP. It was unavailable to them even though they checked in with August's ID. He brought this to them, which meant that he had also checked into this hotel
He gave it to them as a gift, but she freaked out and scolded him. It was a mistake. She somehow felt down. After putting the kids to bed, she twisted and turned. The room was booked by August, and she was in his debt. What happened just now was not expected,
After a moment of hesitation, she texted August, transferred the money, and made an apology. "Sorry about that and thank you for your help."
For some unknown reason, her cheeks burned. She took a deep breath, turned off the phone, put it on the nightstand, and got under the covers. She would see if there were any replies tomorrow. Relieved, she lay down and looked at the two kids who were fast asleep. Her heart softened..
Soon, she was overcome with drowsiness and drifted off to sleep. Early the next morning, she was woken up by people coming for room service. She opened the door and sew two waiters outside, each pushing a cart.
"I didn't remember we ordered these," she said.
The handsome waiter at the front explained with a smile, "Mr. Adams from next door ordered these for you."
Mr. Adams from next door? After the initial surprise, she realized the situation and looked at the closed door of the adjacent room.
"Mr. Adams is in that room?" she asked.
"Yes" The waiter nodded.
Her throat tightened. She was lost for words. He was in the adjacent room? No wonder he knocked on their door in the middle of the night. She stepped aside and let thein in. The waiters put the food down and left. Lucia came to the bed, picked up her phone, and turned it on. There was a reply to the message she sent August last night. She opened it and saw a simple sentence.
"Find me the next morning. There is something I want to talk to you about."
She frowned, curious about what August was going to talk about. Unable to figure it out, she went back to her room. Perhaps because of the aroma of the food or the noise just now, the two kids had sleepily sat up from the bed.
"Mom, I'm hungry."
Upon hearing Timothy's voice, she curled her lips, quickly put down her phone, got them out of bed, and led them to wash up. The kids had a sumptuous meal till their bellies were bulging Satiated, they went to watch TV. Lucia went to get their clothes which had been washed and dried, but her mind started to wander.
She couldn't stay here with the kids forever. Most of their things were still in the West Bridge Villa. She also had to go through the divorce procedures with Paul. Everything was messed up, affecting her good mood. She took a deep breath but still felt antsy.
In the past, she had never needed to worry about her life. She was content as long as her parents and children were healthy. After she left West Bridge, she felt lost and scared. All the things weighed her down, and she felt breathless. However, there was no turning back. She had to forge forward.
The divorce should be done as soon as possible, and she needed to go back and get her luggage. There hadn't been any plans beyond that. She couldn't take the kids to talk about
divorce with Paul, and they couldn't be left behind either. For a moment, she was caught in a dilemma.
Just then, an idea crossed her mind. She hesitated for a moment and then slowly made up her mind. After taking a deep breath, she turned to look at the kids who were sitting on the bed watching TV
"Sweethearts, I'll be gone for ten minutes. Stay in the room and don't open the door for anyone, okay? I'll be back soon."
After getting 'scolded by their mother, the two kids were well-behaved. They nodded in unison and turned back to watch TV. Reassured, she grabbed the room card, lett the room, and closed the door. Then she went next door. She was a little hesitant..
