Chapter 635 I Would Rather Die

+20

Lucia didn't wake up. Still in a nightmare, she reached out her hand, trying to grab something. Her look was panicky and painful. Timothy stiffened in fear, unsure of what to do. August grabbed her flailing hand and soothed her in a low voice, "It's okay. They're both here. Don't worry, I'll protect them."

His gentle voice had a calming power. He repeated his words several times till Lacia quieted down. Her hand then slowly dropped. August grabbed the tissue, wiped the sweat off her

forehead, and tucked het in. His movement was natural. He suddenly felt a gaze, looked over, and met Timothy's glittering eyes. Sitting on his lap, the boy looked fixedly at him. Like

a cute doll, he was well-behaved and filled with curiosity.

August arched his brow and asked, "Is the 'seat comfortable?"

Timothy blushed, flailed his legs, and tried to get off. August smiled, litted him, and went outside. Timothy and Janet were struck dumb.

The girl caught up with him and said, "Uncle Charming, I thought you couldn't walk."

August put Timothy down and winked at her. "It takes a little magic for me to walk."

"Wow!" Janet's eves were filled with surprise and admiration, "What kind of magic? Can you teach me?"

August smiled at her, "Maybe next time."

He got up and reminded them, "Play in the living room and do not wander around. I need to guard your mother."

Lucia's tever hadn't subsided, and she was having nightmares. Someone had to be there taking care of her. Timothy wanted to refuse but then thought of what happened just now

He putted out his cheeks and reminded August in a threatening tone, "I'll leave my mother in your care. You can't bully her."

He punched the air. Amused by his action, August laughed and nodded in consent. His smile didn't fade away until he went back to the room and sat down by the bed. He didn't know why but felt close to the two little ones. When he thought that they were the fruits of Lucia and Paul's love, however, he found a pricking pain in his heart.

Nevertheless, he was not fully convinced. He just needed to wait for the test results to come out. A typhoon visited Austos City. Since that heavy rain, the sky had never cleared up in

the afternoon, the weather was dreary. A rumble of thunder came. Lucia turned over and slowly opened her eyes.

She vaguely saw a silhouette, blinked, and found that August was facing her. He was lying prone on the bed, asleep. She sat up with a start and sobered up. In the next instant, she shivered in cold, looked down, and screamed. In a panic, she grabbed the blanket to cover her chest. Her teeth chattered as she looked at the man who was woken up from his sleep "What What did you do to me?"

August opened his eyes, saw her panicky look, curled his lips, and slowly said, "Physical cooling"

Lucia was confused. "Huh?"

He suddenly reached out. As his hand was about to touch her forehead, she shivered and knocked it off. "Don't touch me. I'd rather die." August felt helpless but could not help teasing her. "It's not up to you."

With that, he grabbed her hand and reached out his other hand to take her temperature. Lucia panicked and shoved him. Not as strong, she borrowed her weight to lean over. His legs were numb from his sleep. He lost his balance and fell backward. Lucia was about to fall. His robust arm caught her in the nick of time, and his back landed on the ground. Following a thud, Lucia shook but felt no pain. She looked up and found herself in his arms. His body acted as the cushion. She instantly felt guilty.

"You"

August frowned and leered at her. Lucia was lying naked on his chest and innocently looking at him. He was tantalized. He suddenly turned over and flipped her on the carpet. His dark eyes were fixed on her, and he croaked, "I didn't plan to do this."

In the next second, he domineeringly kissed her and pinned her hands down on the soft carpet. Her brain went blank in an instant. It happened so suddenly yet so naturally. When it was dark, Zane knocked on the door and said that dinner was ready. The two people on the bed finally moved.

Lucia regained her senses and blushed. She quickly went out of bed, pulled on her clothes, and turned to leave. Before she could go outside, August caught up with her and grabbed

her arm. She turned back in shock and saw that he was on his feet.

"Your legs..."

Just now, she had lost herself and hadn't noticed his condition.
