Chapter 689 The Unkind Celebrity

Yanny spoke with her head held high. Her tone was blunt as she said, "Mr. Adams, you just have to look after the kids. Leave the rest to my husband."

August's deep eyes swept over her. He actually had no intention of refusing. After handing his suitcase over to Mr. Child, he took Timothy and Janet to find the children's room. Lucia was a little embarrassed. Her previous impression of Yanny was not very good. After all, there were rumors online that Yanny was known to be an unkind and difficult person. "Actually, I don't need your help. Timothy and Janet are obedient kids, and I can take care of them well. August only helps around with the chores."

"There are only two people in my family but your family has four. If I say you need help, then you need help," Yanny answered firmly as she linked arms with Lucia.

As the two walked side by side to the dormitory area not far away, Yanny's eyes fell on Mr. Child's back. Her tone was sweet. "My hubby used to be my manager. He's used to doing this kind of work. You don't have to worry about him."

Hubby?

When Lucia heard how casually she called her husband "hubby", she couldn't help feeling jealous about it.

She had known August for six years and they had gotten married to each other twice. Timothy and Janet even appeared, but she had never once called him "hubby".

Yanny didn't realize Lucia's inner turmoil. She continued saying, "It must have been hard for you to bring up two kids. I've seen many people lose touch with society after having kids."

When she mentioned the children, Lucia came back to reality. There was a happy smile on her face. "It's been hard, but seeing them so mature at their age, I think it's worth it in the end."

"Is it really worth giving up your youth and career for them?" Yanny's hand gently touched her stomach. There was some frustration in her eyes. "In this industry, once you've given

birth, it's almost akin to giving up on your career..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly clutched Lucia's fingers and covered her mouth with her other hand. Then, she suddenly bent down and started dry-retching. When Lucia Mitchell saw her reaction, she was shocked. While helping her calm down, she asked, "By right, you shouldn't be having any more morning sickness symptoms now.

Have you gone for a hospital checkup?"

Yanny waved her hand.

It wasn't until she stopped dry-retching that she showed a disgusted face and answered in a hoarse voice, "I might have been working a bit too much and my body can't take it. The

doctor said that my baby is developing healthily and there's nothing to worry about."

Lucia realized that she was still hard at work despite her growing belly. "You shouldn't be working in your current state. You should go back and rest early."

"I like my work very much, but it's too competitive in this industry. It's easy to disappear from the public's eye, but it's hard to make a return. I don't want to leave the entertainment

industry just yet."

As the both of them continued chatting, they reached Yanny's room. Mr. Child had prepared some fruits for her. The both of them were very sweet with each other, which brought on

many envious comments on the live platform.

Lucia returned to her room and saw that August was reading with the kids. She felt a warm feeling in her heart.

"Did you have a good chat with her?" August asked in a clear voice.

Lucia nodded. "She's different from my initial impression. She might look cold and unapproachable, but she's actually not too bad when you get to know her."

"We can keep in touch in the future." August didn't lift his head and flipped a page in Janet's constellation book, speaking very calmly.

A gentle breeze lightly lifted the curtains, opening up a small gap that let a sliver of golden sunlight shine onto the three of them.

Lucia watched their beautiful faces bathed in golden sunlight and thought that she was looking at a beautiful painting instead. Her lips parted as she forced herself to say, "Hubby..."

From the moment she started talking to Yanny, she had wanted to call August "hubby" too, but she hadn't dared to do it.

When August heard her, he immediately looked up. His eyes were dark and deep as he gazed intensely at her.

She suddenly felt grateful that she hadn't called him that when they were alone with each other. Otherwise, she might have been eaten alive by him.

After a long pause, August swallowed and asked in a hoarse voice, "What's wrong?"

Lucia quickly thought of an excuse. "When it's not too busy at the company, I want to learn photography."

She wished she had the skill to preserve the beautiful scene before her eyes.

"Okay." A touch of tenderness appeared in August's eyes.

Timothy and Janet had only just read a few pages in their book when a film staff knocked on their door and said politely, "Mr. and Mrs. Adams, the afternoon broadcast session is

about to start. Please bring your children to the Central Pavillion."

According to the schedule, they were supposed to bring their children to the vegetable garden at Clear River Bay to pick veggies before bringing them back to make dinner. Lucia changed into some loose-fitting gray loungewear and helped the kids into some matching casual clothes as well. Then, she handed a matching set to August.

Even if it was a simple, casual outfit, August wore it with an innate sense of nobility. This outfit seemed to be custom-made for him. It was casual but still managed to look expensive.

In fact, it made him look many years younger.

She couldn't help feeling envious of him. As expected, he looked good in anything he wore because he was handsome. He was born to be a model.

When the family arrived at the Central Pavillion, Yanny was already there, lying lazily on a chaise as she basked in the sun. When she saw Lucia, Yanny immediately beckoned her

over.

"Looking at you, I see that it's more important to marry a good man than to do things well!"

Although Yanny's words could have been seen as an insult, Lucia knew that there was no real malice in her words. She replied jokingly, "Ah, you're such a beautiful woman; what a

pity you've got to open your big mouth."

Yanny's smile fell immediately and she rolled her eyes. "If it were not for my belly being too heavy for me to move, I'd have smacked you a long time ago."

The two women joked and chatted happily for a long time. Eventually, the weather got warmer and they were covered in a sheen of sweat. However, the third family of influencers still hadn't arrived yet. The staff were starting to complain.

"They still haven't arrived after being reminded so many times? Who do they think they are?" Yanny's eyes were filled with disdain. Pregnancy was hard enough on her, and yet, she

was forced to wait for such a long time. She was getting angry.

Lucia asked for a paper fan from the film crew and started fanning her. She asked curiously, "You seem not to like Yoyo very much."

"Of course not!" Yanny said without hesitating. "She's someone who would stop at nothing to gain as many fans as possible. She also promotes a lot of fake goods and

non-functional items, but managed to convert many of my fans. Of course I wouldn't like her!"
