Chapter 691 Glow that Couldn't be Hidden!
Rewards
As her glance swept from August's statuesque figure to her husband, who went with a beer belly and the almost bald
head, Yoyo felt the latter even more disgusting.
When the three families put the vegetables and fruits they had just washed on the kitchen table, they got the cue from the
crew that they could start cooking by using the meat and kitchenware placed aside.
The array of ingredients just got Lucia distraught, while Yanny looked no better beside her. The only dish Lucia could
boast herself of was fish soup, but there was no sight of fish among the materials today. She began to wonder if she
could venture to make use of the fresh meat in the way she made the fish soup.
Noticing their vexation, Alex offered kindly, "Leave the troublesome stuff to us, and just go and have a rest, Yanny and
Mrs. Adams." He had pushed the ladies aside while speaking, so that they wouldn't be choked by the smoke from the
stove.
Alex suggested to August too, "You doesn't seem to an expert of the kitchen chores, Mr. Adams, do you? What about
leaving them to me and looking after your little kids there?"
"It's alright for me." August declined Alex's offer and put his long fingers into the cold spring water after tucking up his
sleeves.
Lucia was about to make some protests when Yanny tugged her aside. "We will only make it a mess." advised Yanny.
"The best place for us is right here."
"But..." Lucia faltered.
Rolling her eyes, Yanny complained with an airy wave, "Can you be a little more decisive? How could a wife from the rich
family have no idea of enjoying the life!"
Lucia twitched her mouth and lolled into the rocking armchair quietly. As the dusk fell, she had gradually been free of
qualms, just enjoying the leisure time together with Yanny.
Timothy and Janet were much more excited than their mother as this was their first experience in a show. They were
exploring the kitchen and discussing everything in it curiously. On top of that, they even tried to share the chores with
August like serious adults.
Looking at the two smart kids, Yanny couldn't help touching her belly and exclaiming, "Lucia, how nice your kids are!
They got me to expect mine more than ever!"
Lucia laughed. "It's quite an experience to be a mother. And I bet you won't have much hardship during pregnancy with
such a considerate husband!" Yet recalling her own process of laboring in Amecan, Lucia just thought it almost a
nightmare. Fortunately the two kids were good enough to made up for the pains she had endured.
"Your husband looks pretty good too." Yanny touched Lucia's elbow. While the two women was observing him aside,
August's usually grim face turned a little softer as the orange glow of the late afternoon sun was shed on him. Lucia
herself had always be deemed a disaster to the kitchen, while August rarely set foot in it either. Turner was the one in
charge of their daily meals. Yet now, August just posed as an expert with advanced culinary skills, though only after
checking some recipes from the net hastily.
Alex Clarkson shook his head disapprovingly at August's beautifully displayed dishes. "Mr. Adams, you can't feed us with
even ten times of these."
August paused and said in a low voice, "I might need your favor as I'm really a layman of cooking."
"No worries." Alex promised confidently, "I can teach you." He then took the ingredients from August while exclaiming
casually, "It's actually a blessing to be able to cook for your beloved ones. But I don't think you've expressed your
passion to Lucia either through your words or the dishes you make."
August only compressed his lips silently.
"The glow in your eyes could never be hidden when you fall in love with someone." Alex's smile got more brilliant. "And I
can observe that in your eyes now."
Alex's words got August to look at Lucia with a hint of softness in his gaze, which was no longer as chilly as usual. Yet
this woman was simply ignorant of his profound passion.
Timothy stood by the little table, slicing the softer vegetables with a plastic knife in his fat little hand, and Janet was cleaning up the table with a white cloth as well as laying the plates on the table. The two cute kids had attracted a huge group of fans mainly made up of women, who even named themselves as the group of "How I Wish They Were My Kids". The bullet comments were full of admiration and envy towards Lucia, who was so lucky to be their mother. Checking the comments in her IPAD, Yoyo anxiously found herself neglected by the viewers. She thus tried to push Jacob
to the front of the camera, in the hope that he could pose as a hard-working kid like Timothy and Janet. Yet Jacob just
went the other way round, either running around or misbehaving, which made his mother rather embarrassed. Yoyo
could only strive strenuously to suppress her urge to discipline him.
As Lucia and Yanny were chatting merrily not far away, Yoyo looked up along the direction, just to meet her husband
first, who was sinking in the armchair and engrossed in the short videos. A sense of resentment welled up from Yoyo's
heart. Why should I be the miserable housewife while the other two women were enjoying their leisure time? Yoyo
