Chapter 693 So What if I'm Partial to Her?

There was a fraught silence in the living room. The obtrusive scarlet blood made Paul sober again. He even felt sorry for Daryl as he regained the composure. "Daryl..." he whispered so softly as before and bent down to check her wounds carefully. "I'll go get the medicine. Don't move."
Daryl hastened to stop him from leaving despite the pain that made her wince. "Paul, could we have a word?" She almost
choked.
Paula hurried to fetch the medicine, so that Daryl and Paul could commune without disruption.
Daryl said slowly with a wry smile, "We are not familiar enough with each other for the wedding. Some more time for the
adjustment is needed."
Paul just felt a flip in his heart. "I admit I was out of control just now. But..."
"But I'm not the one you really want to marry. You are only trying to maintain a shadow of Lucia." There was a note of forgiveness in Daryl's innocent eyes. "What I want is to be your wife when you really make up your mind to marry me,
rather than being a substitute of Lucia, which is totally senseless."
A sudden silence fell. Paul only looked around as he dared not to meet Daryl's gaze.
His reaction confirmed Daryl's guesswork, which was what she least wanted to see. Yet Daryl still consoled him softly despite the inward grievance, "I'll stay with you as a friend just like Lucia until you finally accept the woman who is no
other but herself
Daryl Davenport."
Paula treated her wounds grimly and helped her with the luggage. The house of Thomas family fell quiet and deserted
again after the short and rare buzz of a couple of days.
Meanwhile, the scent of meals was wafting around Tsinghe Resort. Lucia and Yanny were so engrossed in their chatting that no one noticed Jacob had crept to the back the rocking armchair. With a naughty smile, the boy grasped the rail of
the chair and pushed the armchair lightly, resorting to the inertia of the weight.
As the chair was rocking more and more violently, Yanny finally smelt something fishy. She rose to her feet and squatted clumsily to check around. At that instant, Jacob, who was hiding behind with a vicious smile, suddenly pushed the chair with his dirty hands, and the rail of the chair hit right at the calves of Yanny. As she fell onto the chair in shock, Jacob abruptly kicked the back the chair before she could sit down steadily. Consequently, the violent swing of the chair just
tossed Yanny onto the floor before Lucia got around to holding her up.
"Ho, ho!" Jacob applauded. "That's called falling on your face!"
"Yanny!" Lucia and Alex exclaimed in unison.
There were instantly beads of sweat on Yanny's forehead. As she held her belly, the agony was so obvious on her face.
which was with delicate makeup. "My belly...aches!" groaned she.
Alex held her up and dashed towards their bedroom while urging the crew to send for the doctors. Such an unexpected accident made the filming site into a mess, since the live stream was still going on. Some staff were immediately
dispatched to Yanny's room.
The chaotic situation got Jacob to realize what a big trouble he had made. With a frightened look which had replaced his
previous cheeky one, he fled stealthily for the protection of his mother.
Gawking, at Jacob and Yoyo, Lucia just felt a chill rippling down her spine, and her hands were in sweat out of fear. She could never believe a boy of only six years old could have been so evil-minded. "Why did you do that? Why?" she angrily
caught Jacob before he was able to retreat.
Jacob was totally startled by her harsh questioning. He failed to get out of her grip after some strenuous struggle, and
thus began wailing, "Mom, this malicious woman is bullying me! Help, Mom!"
Yoyo's face darkened. Giving a quick glance at the camera, she dashed to Lucia and began scolding her son, "What a
careless boy! I'll give you a lesson next time if you dare to do it again!"

Only because of "carelessness"? What a joke! Lucia sneered, "But I figure it is on purpose."
"You are libeling!" Yoyo snapped, pointing at Lucia's face. "Why can't others have a nice kid when your children are that outstanding?" Yet hardly had she finished her criticism, Yoyo just felt a sever pain at her finger tip. She took her hand back out of reflection, and stared at August in astonishment.-- August was pressing Timothy's toy knife against her
finger. A plastic one as it was, it hurt too when being used as a weapon.
"Mr. Adams," Yoyo pretended to be miserable with her tearful eyes, "how could a man of high social status like you be
partial to that woman just in full view of so many people?"
