Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis) novel Chapter 1027

Chapter 1027 Trapped Myself

Bailey looked at him coldly. Her face was devoid of any expression.

“It's too complicated and burdensome. Just set a date, invite some friends and family, and have a wedding banquet. There's no need to go through so much trouble.”

She was past the age of coveting romance. Grand weddings and billion-dollar dowries were all mere formalities to her.

“That won't do.” Steven dismissed the idea without a second thought.

He was hoping to use the wedding preparations as an opportunity to mend his relationship with his daughter; he would not have that chance anymore if she married into the Luther family without the pomp.

That thought also occurred to Waverly. She gave a light chuckle. “I know you like to keep things simple, but a wedding is something you only do once in your life. Surely we can't be so hasty! You might feel indifferent about it right now, but you might regret it when you see other people having grand weddings in the future. In that case, why not take this opportunity to do it right? Don't worry, your father and I will be here, and we will make it as stress-free as we can for you. Leave everything to us.”

Bailey frowned slightly. She kept her head bowed, not saying a word.

“If Artemis doesn't plan the wedding to the tee,” Zeke interjected, “then he might as well not marry at all. I won't approve of this marriage.”

Bailey's expression darkened. She shot him a cold glare and asked in a chilling voice, “Does this mean I have to stay at the Shurmer residence during the preparation period?”

Zeke nodded with a smile. “That is what tradition dictates,” he said nonchalantly, ignoring the sarcasm in her words. “If you want a good start to your marriage, you should follow the rules. For now, stay away from the Luther residence and remain at the Shurmer residence.”

Artemis was rendered speechless. Why do I get the feeling that I'd shot himself in the foot?

Bailey glanced at him, a cold smirk playing on her lips. “Dug yourself a hole, didn't you? Fine. Since you put it this way, Zeke, I'll stay at the Shurmer residence for the time being.”

Artemis was just about to suggest that she stayed at Shelbert Condominium but a warning glance from Zeke made him swallow his words.

He then turned to his father-in-law, whose expression seemed to say, “If you dare to ruin the opportunity to mend my relationship with my daughter, I won't let you forgive you.”

Thus, Artemis tactfully shut his mouth.

I can't fall asleep without holding my wife! I dug myself such a large hole that I ended up falling in, and there's no way to get out now. Godd*mn it!

Bailey lowered her head. Her lips curled upward in a faint smile.

It would be good to stay at the Shurmer family's place for a while; without a decent home to call her own when she got married, her life would be a complete failure.

“Lunch is ready, Mr. Luther, Mrs. Luther. You may proceed to the dining room.”

The butler's voice echoed from outside, breaking the awkward silence that filled the living room.

The couple stood up. Just as Waverly was about to lead Bailey and Artemis to the dining room, her husband stopped her.

She froze for a moment, then quickly understood her husband's intentions.

This being her own home, it might make things awkward if she were to lead her daughter and son-in-law to the dining room; it would be better to let things take their natural course and follow behind them instead.

Waverly beamed. After casting an appreciative look at her husband for his thoughtfulness, she linked her arm with his and headed toward the door.

Zeke pulled Juliana up, who was sitting in the corner, and followed suit.
